Brief introduction of Yunlin Temple in Xiamushan, Huzhou

There is a thousand-year-old temple-Yunlin Temple in Xiamu, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, which is a famous Buddhist shrine. But few people know its true historical and cultural background and influence, and it is an excellent place to worship Buddha. The following is a detailed introduction of Xiamu Yunlin Temple.

Brief introduction of Yunlin temple

Natsume is located 25 kilometers southwest of Huzhou City. Full of aura and beautiful scenery, it is still in the undeveloped natural ecology. For many tourists, Natsume has no impression. On the contrary, the "Lu Yu Ancient Road" located in the mountains has attracted many outdoor enthusiasts. Lu Yu Ancient Road is one of the top ten ancient roads in China, which is equivalent to the "Tea-Horse Ancient Road" in the south of the Yangtze River, and gave birth to the world tea culture.

We followed the "outdoor guide" to the ancient road in Lu Yu, to the top of Natsume Mountain, and saw the dilapidated Yunlin Temple in the valley. Around the temple, there are tea trees all over the mountains, which are lush.

Lin Zen Temple, formerly known as "Tianhu Temple", is the ancestral hall of Nanzong (now called Taikoo Sect) and the Dojo of a generation of master Shi Family founded by a stone family monk in Yuan Dynasty. According to historical records, Tianhu Bank had three temples in the south, middle and north during its heyday. "The Taoist temple is simple, the family is surrounded by walls, and the disciples are everywhere, turning into a jungle." It can be seen that Tianhu Bank was magnificent at that time, and Natsume Mountain was also famous all over the world. Unfortunately, after the mid-Qing Dynasty, the three temples of Tianhu gradually declined.

Xiamushan and Tianhu Temple are famous for Ishiguro and his two disciples who preached in Korea. Kazuo ishiguro, a famous monk in Yuan Dynasty, was the 19th ancestor of Lin Jizong in China, and he had an important position and influence in the history of Zen in China and China. I participated in the summit of Tianmu Mountain for the first time and became a famous Zen master.

One of the two disciples is Taikoo Pu, a Buddhist monk in South Korea. He received the seal of Shihei, a Buddhist monk, and inherited the cassock and mord, becoming the 20th founder of Lin Ji in China and the first founder of Lin Ji in South Korea (now Taigu Temple). Another disciple of Koryo is the founder of Koryo brainless Zen, Master Baiyun Jingxian.

Master Shihei is honored as "the immortal of monks". His Zen thoughts are profound, but he is also a unique Zen tea monk. His tea ceremony culture and the idea of "Zen tea blindly" gradually penetrated into the people and overseas, which greatly promoted the development of China tea culture and Zen thought, and also made important contributions to the development of Korean Zen and tea ceremony. In the 1990s, people in the Zen tea industry in South Korea

Today, the top of Natsume Mountain has a wide view and ten thousand mu of tea gardens are continuous. The "Yunlin Temple" building complex at the top of Jinwadi Tea Garden is embedded in the southeast and built on the original "Nan 'an" site of Tianhu Temple.

There are several folded old trees at the gate, and there is an ancient release pond. The 13 storey Dolly Thousand Buddha Pagoda next to Wanshou Pavilion has already collapsed, leaving only the base. Although the temple is small and old, it is not what it used to be. Only two monks are maintaining their daily life, but the various structures in the temple are still intact.

Tianhu Temple: A Historical Introduction of Yunlin Temple

Natsume, or Wu Xia, is located in Miaoxi Town, 25 kilometers southwest of Huzhou City. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was called "Natsume Mountain", and the Zen master of the Ten Houses Qinggong Temple in Tianhu Temple sang, "This mountain is called Natsume Tian Quan Lake". In the Ming Dynasty, it was called "Wuxia Mountain" and "Natsume Mountain". Wuxia Mountain is located 50 miles southwest of the county seat, with steep terrain. You can see Taihu Lake above, and there are mountains below. Every cloud covers the curtains, so it is called "Natsume". This is the Dojo of the Shi clan leader. County annals in Qing Dynasty were directly recorded as "Natsume".

This mountain is 408 meters above sea level. The mountain is not high, but the fairy is famous. Natsume is famous because the Tianhu Temple at the top of the mountain is the "fifteen Dojo" for monks in the Yuan Dynasty. There are records in Old Records of Ming and Qing Dynasties: "Tianhu Temple is on the top of Xiamu Mountain in the southwest of the county seat", "Wu Zu started in the Yuan Dynasty" and "Tianhu Temple is there".

The "Father of Stone House" was named "Stone House" in the Qing Palace of Lin Ji School in Yuan Dynasty (1272~ 1352). Wen, an ordinary surname, was born in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. He studied Confucianism when he was young, but he didn't want to be an official. He studied Buddhism in Chongfu Temple and believed it. He converted to Christianity at the age of 20. Participated in meditation for three years in Linjizong Buddhist ancestral temple in Tianmu Mountain. He used to be a Miao Zen master and spent six years in the location of Xifeng and Anxin Zen master in Jianyang, Fujian. Then he became a monk and resigned as a teacher. Soon, Anxin moved to Huzhou Dojo Mountain Manjuji and went to Shiwu to participate. He ordered the collection of books and publicly praised him as "a golden scale in the sea of law." From then on, I went in and out of the five mountains and made friends with Buddhism.

Xun Qing has well-preserved forests and loves the majestic momentum and beautiful scenery of Natsume Mountain, so the spring water of Tianhu Lake is called "Tianhu". This is the year of celebrating the Yuan Dynasty in Yuan Di (13 12).

Long song was also quoted in the six volumes of Wucheng County Records of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty. "It's Xiao Yun: the mountain is called Xiamuquan Tianhu, at the beginning of Lunzi. There is a boulder on the top of the mountain, just like a green lotus flower out of the water. There is a spring in Gengtian Lake, which has never dried up since its birth. As soon as spring is over, the house will be suspected of death, and there will be no world of mortals in the fields. The scale outside looks very narrow and can be used comfortably in the middle. " It is one of the Zen songs that Shihei stayed in Tianhu Temple, and it is also a true portrayal of the scene between him and Tianhu Temple at that time. The first couplet clearly points out the time of "Summer Lake" and "Buju Jilun Zi Chu". "Renzi" is a Gregorian calendar year in qianzi, and "Renzi Year" happens to be the anniversary of Yuan Di (13 12). So he got married at 40. At the end of Long song, I said, "When I came here in my thirties, the sunset was reflected in several windows." Some people think that Xun Qing was over 30 years old when he visited Tianhu, which seems a bit arbitrary. "thirties" is an uncertain concept, and 39 years old can also be said to be "thirties", which is also the need of poets to write poems.

At first, the Tianhu Temple where Qingquan settled must be the Caosi Temple. The mountain is beautiful and quiet, but it is inaccessible and in a difficult situation. His first song, "Poem 35 of Mountain Residence", begins with the following words: "My family lives in the west of Luoxi, where the lake is full and the moon is full of streams. You knew the height of the road before the mountain was high and steep. The snail's saliva wall is covered with dead shells, and the tiger's new hooves are printed with rain mud. Idle in Chai Men, the spring scenery lasts forever, and the green tung flowers paint. " Ichiro Ishiguro devoted himself to practicing Buddhism, and his life was very poor, even "forgetting himself for the Dharma". "The firewood goes out of the city, the moss is slippery, and the rice leads to white sweat" ("Poetry in the Mountain"); "A quail's clothes are all tied to her body, and three bamboo sticks are wrapped around her stomach" (Poems of Mountain Living11); "The night stove helps warm and burn pine leaves, and the noon bowl fills the hunger and picks wild vegetables." There are many such descriptions in Thirty-seven Poems of Mountain Dwelling, which describe the poverty and hardship of mountain dwelling. In other words, Tianhu Temple at that time was far less magnificent than the underground palace. However, "although Chai Men is not closed, bird watching returns. It's easy for a ruler to ask for a stone from thousands of feet, but gold can't buy a lifetime of leisure. Zhang listened to the cold waterfall in the snow and looked at the fallen leaves and distant mountains. Cooper smoke disappears forever, and right and wrong are not as good as white clouds. " ("Poetry in the Mountain") has its own fun that people in the world of mortals can never enjoy. The ambition of the Qing Palace in the Tenth Five-Year Plan is complementary to the environment and poverty on the lakeside.

Tianan spread Buddhism widely and inspired Zen style, which should be in the late 15 th century of Qing Dynasty. During the period, he was invited by the newly-built Fuyuan Temple in Danghu (now Pinghu, Zhejiang) to stay with the abbot for 7 years, and "retired to Tianhu" and "dressed in gold and respected by everyone". (Xu Yuan's Poem of Mountain Living 2) became so famous that two eminent monks from North Korea (now North Korea and North Korea) came to practice. He is the Zen master of Puyu Taigu (130 1~ 1383).

According to the book Taming, the Zen Master of Shiwu Qinggong in Chongzhen of Ming Dynasty, Tianhu Temple reached the peak of "Taoism, Vulgarity, Full Family, Four Disciples and Jungle". It should be in Shi Wu's later years. After his death, the court "called Buddha Tzu Chi as a Zen master" and "King Koryo asked to move to Jiangsu and Zhejiang". According to the old rumors in the countryside, in its heyday, Tianhu Temple had three temples: south, middle and north. As a "jungle", its monks should belong to the category of "quite a few". According to the records in Volume 12 of Stone House and Wucheng County Records of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty, Tian Hu 'an was already a "man in the jungle", and its grand occasion was not as good as that of Yuan Dynasty. The grand occasion of Tianan Temple's South, Middle and North temples also gradually declined from the Ming Dynasty to the middle and late Qing Dynasty, as can be seen from the remaining Lingta inscription "The Valley of Winter in the Qianlong Period (1784)".

Mr. Kou Dan numbered "Stone House" and said that the lakeshore in fifteen days should be the "North Temple" on the northern slope of the mountain. He listed four arguments: first, the "Tianhu" still exists; Second, the mountain scenery conforms to the description of "Cuibao Ya Dan on all sides, Maoan in the middle" in Huzhou Fuzhi; Third, the "North Temple" is on the mountain, and the "Middle Temple" is under the mountain, which is connected by roads, in line with the reality that Daming said at that time that "Taoism, custom and family achievements"; Fourth, there are three pagodas in Bei 'an. Please remember that the stupa "only accepts its spiritual relics." The stupa is in the original site of Tianhu Lake, with the stupa in a nun to show that you don't forget the same niche. " In my opinion, these are all in line with the local actual situation.

On the former site of Nan 'an, the temple was rebuilt on 200 1 and renamed Yunlin. At that time, there was only a roof foundation, a monument and a small well left in the former residence of the stone house "Bei 'an", and there were still three spires left in the east of the roof foundation. As for "Zhong 'an", I once read teacher Yu Shao's article "Temple View in Wucheng County" as "Fuyuan Temple, where monks lived for seven years", which is obviously a mistake. Fuyuan Temple, where Zen master Shi Wu lived for seven years, is in Pinghu, and its site is in Zhong 'an. Ming Chenghua, volume "tian hu Ann Field Survey", volume 12, "Mountain Poetry", containing "Zi 'an, tian hu, four miles southwest of the county". I think "Zi 'an in tian hu" in Ming Dynasty is what modern people call "Zhong 'an". The "stone house old man" left from the ruins and the mountain road connecting the mountain and Tianhu Temple can completely imagine the bustling scene of Tianhu Temple "one avenue, four disciples and one jungle" in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties.

"Moganshan scenery, mountains and rivers in summer", with beautiful scenery in summer, maintains the pure natural scenery of 1000 years ago and carries profound cultural heritage. Zhang, a recluse poet in the Tang Dynasty, said that "egrets fly in front of Cisai Mountain, and peach-blossom mandarin fish are fat", referring to this mountain.
