State Grid Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as "State Grid") announced on August 3 that it will fully promote the construction of major projects, saying that it will fully expand power grid investment and accelerate the construction of UHV, pumped storage and ultra-high voltage projects. The total investment of projects under construction this year will exceed one trillion yuan. According to industry insiders, UHV and pumped storage industry chain will face great opportunities.

According to State Grid data, from June 5438+0 to July, the investment in power grid has reached 236.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19%. At present, the total investment of projects under construction is 883.2 billion yuan, including 1 10 kV and above power grids and 3,299 pumped storage power stations.

By the end of the year, the State Grid is expected to complete the power grid investment of nearly 300 billion yuan and start a large number of major projects, with a total investment of 4 169 billion yuan, including power grids above 00 kV and pumped storage power stations 1 173. By then, the total investment of projects under construction is expected to reach a record high, reaching 65,438+.

The person in charge of the National Energy Administration said that the UHV project is a strategic means for China to implement large-scale long-distance transmission, optimize the allocation of energy resources in the country and promote clean and low-carbon energy transformation. Undertaking the important mission of the national new energy supply and consumption system, it has entered a new stage of large-scale and high-quality development.

In the first half of this year, the State Grid was building 1 1 project, with a total length of 6,828 kilometers and a total investment of 90 billion yuan. Among them, Fuxia and Zhumadian-Wuhan UHV exchange projects are in full swing. The Baihetan-Jiangsu UHVDC project was completed and put into operation, which opened the strategic artery of transmitting electricity from west to east.

On this basis, the development of UHV project will usher in a new peak. According to the plan, in the second half of the year, State Grid plans to start construction of eight UHV projects, including Wuhan-Nanchang, Zhangbei-Shengli, Sichuan-Chongqing, Huangshi Exchange, Jinshang-Hubei, Longdong-Shandong, Ningxia-Hunan and Hami-Chongqing DC, with a total investment of over 654.38+05 billion yuan, which will further play the role of power grid investment.

In addition, the State Grid will accelerate the preliminary work of six UHV projects, including Dajinnan Exchange Project, Shaanxi-Anhui, Shaanxi-Henan, Meng Xi-Tianjin-Hebei, Gansu-Zhejiang, and DC Project of Power Transmission from Tibet to Guangdong, with a total investment of about 1 1000 billion yuan.

In recent two years, State Grid has accelerated the development of pumped storage. From June 5438 to July this year, the State Grid started construction of four pumped storage power stations, namely Taishun in Zhejiang, Fengxin in Jiangxi, Anhua in Hunan and Shangzhi in Heilongjiang. Eight units of five pumped storage power stations, including Fengning in Hebei, Yimeng in Shandong, Dunhua in Jilin, Huanggou in Heilongjiang and Jinzhai in Anhui, ushered in production, with an additional installed capacity of 2.45 million kilowatts.

According to the plan, the State Grid will put four more pumped storage units into operation in Fengning, Hebei Province, and put 1 pumped storage units into operation in Jinzhai, Anhui Province, with an additional installed capacity of10.5 million kilowatts. Then, Zhuanghe Pumped Storage Power Station in Liaoning Province and Niushoushan Pumped Storage Power Station in Ningxia will be started to further enhance the system regulation ability and accelerate the transformation of clean and low-carbon energy.

Power industry experts believe that as an important starting point in the investment field, the importance of power grid investment is self-evident. Accelerating the construction of new energy supply and consumption system means that the investment and construction of power transmission projects will be further strengthened in the next few years. The UHV project will usher in an intensive approval period, and the performance of related equipment suppliers is expected to usher in high growth.

Under the trend of energy transformation, the role of energy storage is increasingly prominent. Pumped storage is the first choice for large-scale energy regulation at present, and it is a "stabilizer" for the development of new energy such as scenery.

The relevant person in charge of the National Energy Administration recently said that since the beginning of this year, the National Energy Administration has organized provincial energy authorities to formulate a work plan for pumped storage projects. According to preliminary analysis, the installed capacity approved in the Tenth Five-Year Plan is 270 million kilowatts, with a total investment of10.6 trillion yuan, far exceeding the target schedule proposed in the Medium and Long-term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (202 1-2035).

According to the latest research report of Huachuang Securities, with the accelerated development of pumped storage and the implementation of the new electricity price mechanism, the profits of pumped storage operators are expected to increase, and the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain are worthy of attention.
