1. Baotou Vocational and Technical College, referred to as "Bao Vocational College" for short, is a national model vocational college, a national high-quality vocational college, a national high-skilled personnel training base, and a national development planning and construction institution for the integration of production and education.

Baotou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College is the only full-time higher vocational and technical college of light industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The college was established in 1956. In 2002, it was approved by the people's government of the autonomous region and filed by the Ministry of Education. It was independently rebuilt by the former Inner Mongolia Light Industry School and was subordinate to Baotou Municipal People's Government.

3. Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational and technical college (specialist) approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and filed by the Ministry of Education.

4. Baotou Railway Vocational and Technical College, located in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a public full-time higher vocational and technical college, the third batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of Education, and the construction unit of demonstration higher vocational colleges in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
