Which country's brand is MG?

Originally a British brand, it is now from China. MG brand has a history of nearly a hundred years since its birth, and has been famous for producing high-performance sports cars. From 1930 to 1935, MG brand has made many leaps in the field of cars and sports cars, creating the glory of sports car technology in that era and becoming the most famous sports car base.

In July 2005, Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. acquired MG Rover and its engine production division. After the merger, Nanjing MG Automobile Co., Ltd. reorganized the assets and resources of the former MG Rover and Nanqi Group, and integrated world-class technical equipment, R&D facilities, vehicle engine manufacturing technology, top technical managers and MG brands. In April 2007, SAIC acquired Nanqi Group in an all-round way, and the MG brand was placed under SAIC.

However, Nanqi is a subsidiary and owns everything of mg brand, including engine factory, workshop, spare parts supply, machinery and equipment, etc. It took Nanqi more than a year to move the factory in Gao Qiao from England. So now MG's body, chassis and engine are much better than Roewe's, which is why SAIC bought Nanqi.
