Basic process of core logging

1, technical preparation and logging personnel should be familiar with the basic geological characteristics of the exploration area, including strata and distribution, lithologic combination characteristics, mineral types and occurrence state of ore bodies, distribution and characteristics of folds, fractures and ore belts, and division of rock and ore beds in mining areas. Understand the relevant regulations, procedures, requirements and methods of original logging, and be familiar with drilling implementation design. Familiar with technical requirements and other related requirements in relevant codes and regulations.

2. Write the drilling design. After the drilling location is determined, the logging personnel should work with the prospectors to prepare the drilling design.

3. Materials preparation: The materials to be prepared before the cataloging work include tools, materials, forms, labels, etc.

4, check the original data of drilling, geological logging work, should be in the drilling construction site with the drilling construction progress in a timely manner, in the expected ore-bearing section, logging personnel should follow and guide, to ensure the quality of drilling.

5. Check and arrange the core. Before logging, the logging personnel should carefully check the records in the drilling shift report, including hole depth correction records, curvature records, footage and hole depth recorded in the simple hydrological observation records of drilling, and related geological and hydrological observation data.

6. Check and arrange the core. At the construction site, the core boxes should be arranged in the order of hole depth. Carefully check whether the length and number of cores are correct. The core is artificially elongated. If the order is reversed, it will be adjusted.
