Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary college organized by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. It is the pilot institution of "1+X" certificate system of the Ministry of Education, the construction unit of the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot projects of the Ministry of Education, and a demonstration higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province.

Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College was formerly known as Changzhou Private Qingshan Junior High School founded by 1958 and Changzhou Light Chemical Secondary Technical School founded by 1963. After the merger of the two schools, Changzhou Light Industry Technical School and Changzhou Light Industry School were used. In June, 2002, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to Changzhou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College.
