What are the contents of gas treatment in metallurgical industry in the State Council?

The main documents on gas control in metallurgical industry issued by the State Council include Action Plan for Air Pollution Prevention and Control and Emission Standard of Pollutants in Iron and Steel Industry.

According to the requirements of air pollution prevention and control action plan, metallurgical enterprises should strictly control and manage the emissions of blast furnace gas, coke oven gas and converter gas to minimize the environmental pollution caused by burning gas.

In view of the gas control in metallurgical industry, relevant departments in the State Council jointly issued the Emission Standard of Pollutants in Iron and Steel Industry. This standard restricts iron and steel enterprises from many aspects, mainly including the following contents:

Emission standard of gas pollutants: it is required to strictly control the emission of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter produced by gas combustion in iron and steel enterprises, as well as the emission of waste such as furnace ash and slag.

Emission standard of pollutants from gas heat treatment process: gas heat treatment process will also be involved in the steelmaking process of iron and steel enterprises. This standard limits the pollutants produced during gas heat treatment, including sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds.
