This month's book sharing presents the work of Japanese management master kazuo inamori: Dry Method.
This is a controversial book. Those who love it deeply, but those who don't love it give up halfway. You have to argue to think. Do you still need to love your work for products that are often blamed by managers at work? Look at the answers in this book. Are you for or against it?
Fulmos? ? ★★★★★ ? A good book, a practical version of Wang Yangming's mind.
I read many parts of this book with tears in my eyes. I am so excited. I believe in Buddhism and admire Confucianism, especially the "Mind Theory" of Rainbow Yangming and Wang Wencheng. I not only benefited a lot from it, but also summed up my experience, but it is still a theory and thought, just a kind of "knowledge"; Therefore, when I saw Mr. kazuo inamori put this "knowledge" into practice and achieved great success, I felt as if I felt the same joy. Kindness, honesty, integrity, diligence, modesty, prudence, selflessness, arrogance, greed and gratitude are all beautiful words that the master told the readers at the end, and we must firmly implement them. Easier said than done, let's work together!
Rachel CHO? ★★★ ★★ ? Dialectically,
I can't stand it when I see it halfway, and I feel that some opinions are too one-sided. People always have an active energy, books are trying to contain it, and there are some moral kidnappings. If you work hard, you are likely to succeed. But after the completion, the empire will be there, the pyramids will be there, but people will be there if they are lucky enough. It takes a little luck, especially in today's environment with frequent physical crises.
There are also some critical articles on the Internet, but no matter which school it is, it should be accepted according to its own situation, some are suitable and some are not.
There is no need to support the suitable and belittle the unsuitable. As long as it comes from the population, it is always subjective, and the degree of subjectivity may be different. If you have an inertial thinking, then your own point of view is already very one-sided.
So the above is also a one-sided story, but I don't regret buying this book, all of which is to help you become yourself.

Appendix dry method: how should operators work
The first chapter is an excerpt from tempering the soul and perfecting the mind: why do you want to work?
What are we working for?
Who do you work for? Work is to get food for life. Many people think so. They believe that getting paid for eating is the value of labor and the primary significance of work.
It is true that it is one of the important reasons to work in order to get the food needed for life, which is not wrong. However, do we work hard just to eat?
The purpose of people's work is to improve their minds-this is my point of view.
It is difficult to improve a person's mind, and some monks may not be able to do it after long-term strict practice. However, there is great power hidden in the work of achieving this goal. This is the meaning of work.
Hard work day after day can play a great role in training our minds and enhancing human nature.
I was very touched when I heard the words of a carpenter who built a shrine on a TV talk show.
He said: there is life in the tree. At work, we must listen to the voice of this life-when using wood with a thousand years of age, our exquisite works must stand the test of the Millennium sun and moon.
This touching language can only be spoken by people who have worked hard all their lives.
What's the point of carpentry? Its significance lies not only in building beautiful houses with tools and improving woodworking skills, but also in tempering people's hearts and shaping people's souls-I heard this moral from the heartfelt words of this master.
He is over 70 years old and just graduated from primary school. His occupation has always been building temples. Only engaged in this job for decades, he was very tired and sometimes wanted to quit, but he still endured and overcame all kinds of hardships, worked hard and devoted himself to research. In this process, he was born with a heavy personality, so he can tell such a sincere life experience.
Just like this carpenter, he devoted himself to a profession, worked hard and worked tirelessly all his life. Such people are the most attractive and can touch my heart most.
Only by long-term unremitting efforts and sharpening one's mind can one have a heavy personality and be calm and unshakable in life. Every time I come into contact with such a person, it can cause me to rethink and think about the sanctity of my work.
At the same time, I sincerely hope that young people living in modern times will take responsibility for the future. You must not relax and hate work and avoid difficulties in your work. I hope you will devote yourself to your work with a simple heart.
Sometimes you may think, "What is the purpose of work?" At this time, I hope you remember the following sentence:
Work can exercise human nature and sharpen the mind. Work is the noblest, most important and most valuable behavior in life.
Work shapes personality.
If you want to live a good life, it is very important to do it well.
Work is a kind of "practice" to improve the mind and temper the personality. This is not too much.
About ten years ago, when I was talking to a German consul, I heard this sentence: The meaning of labor is not only to pursue performance, but also to improve people's hearts.
The most important purpose of work is to temper one's mind and improve one's personality through work. In other words, devote yourself to what you should do now, concentrate on it and strive for perfection. This is to cultivate one's mind and one's deep and heavy personality.
"Work creates personality" is to gradually establish your own independent and excellent personality through serious and practical work every day. Such examples, from ancient times to the present, from east to west, are too numerous to mention. As long as you open the biography of a great man, you can see it everywhere.
Without exception, those who have achieved great success have gone through unremitting efforts and hardships and immersed themselves in their own careers. Through hard work, they have made great achievements and shaped their perfect personality at the same time.
There is such a short story worth pondering:
On the island of New Britain in the South Pacific, there is an uncivilized tribal village where people all agree that "labor is a virtue". Their life is permeated with a simple concept of labor: "serious labor can shape a beautiful mind" and "good work comes from a beautiful mind".
The main labor content of this village is burning agriculture, and the crops are sweet potatoes.
There is no such concept as "work is hard labor". The goals pursued by villagers through work are: "the beautiful result of work" and "the cultivation of personality", that is, to do the work perfectly and temper their own personality.
The villagers commented on the renovation of their fields, the growth of crops and the smell of soil. Those with good smell are praised as "abundant" and those with bad smell are dismissed as "barren".
After such evaluation, people who do well in the field will be called "people with noble personality" and will be respected by the whole village.
In other words, the villagers in this village judge a person's character through the fruits of labor-whether the fields are clean and tidy or not, and whether the crops are bumper. People who do well and make remarkable achievements are considered to be excellent people and people with noble personality.
For them, labor is a means to get food for life, but at the same time it is a means to temper their minds and cultivate their personality. "Excellent work can only be done by excellent people", which is simple but to the point and very common in primitive society.
In the western society that has brought modern civilization to mankind, from the origin of Christian thought, the view that "labor is slavery" is quite popular. This is clearly expressed in the story of Adam and Eve at the beginning of the Bible.
They are the ancestors of mankind, and they were driven out of the Garden of Eden because they ate the fruit of God's fasting. It turned out that they didn't need to work in Xanadu, but after being exiled, they had to start working with pain in order to get food.
In this well-known story, people have to accept the punishment of "labor" in order to redeem their "original sin". So labor has become a negative and negative image in people's consciousness.
That is to say, for Europeans and Americans, labor is a painful and disgusting behavior, which leads to the modern concept of labor: working hours should be shortened as much as possible and work remuneration should be increased as much as possible.
However, there is no such concept of labor in Japan. Not only that, in the past, Japanese always worked hard from morning till night, no matter what occupation they were engaged in. They think that although labor is hard, it can bring happiness and pride and make people understand the meaning of life. Labor is a noble behavior.
There are many excellent craftsmen, as long as they concentrate on honing their skills and making pleasing products, they will feel an indescribable pride and enrichment; Because they think that labor is a kind of practice that can temper both skills and minds, they regard labor as a "diligent" Dojo for self-realization and personality perfection. It can be said that most Japanese people once had this profound and correct outlook on life.
However, in recent years, with the gradual westernization of society, the Japanese labor concept has undergone tremendous changes. This is mentioned at the beginning of this chapter. Labor is to get food for life, and labor is a "necessary evil". Therefore, many Japanese regard labor as a simple chore and even hate labor and work.
Working "extremely hard" can change life.
Having said that, I am not a person who loves labor, and I used to think that it is simply unacceptable to be tested by suffering in labor.
When I was a child, my parents often taught me in Kagoshima dialect: "When I was a child, I had to pay the price." I always retort, "Suffering? It is best to sell it. " At that time, I was still a rude boy.
Like most young people today, I once disdained moral preaching and thought that one can temper one's personality and cultivate one's morality through hard work.
However, when I graduated from university and took a job in Song Feng Industries, a bankrupt enterprise in Kyoto, this shallow idea of young people was completely shattered by reality.
Song Feng Industrial Co., Ltd. is an enterprise that produces insulating porcelain bottles. It was originally one of the outstanding enterprises in Japan. However, when I joined the club, it was beyond recognition. Wage arrears are common, and the company is on the verge of bankruptcy.
The owner's family is constantly fighting, and labor disputes emerge one after another. I went to a nearby store to buy something, and the shopkeeper said to me in a sympathetic tone, "Why are you here?" You can't find a wife in such a broken enterprise! "
So those of us who join the club at the same time feel that "this kind of company is boring and there should be a better place to go" as soon as we enter the company. When we were together, we complained constantly when we were young.
At that time, I was in a period of economic depression, and I finally entered this company through the introduction of my tutor. I should be grateful, let alone speak ill of the company. However, at that time, I was youthful and put aside the kindness of the introducer. Although I don't contribute much to the company, I complain more than others.
Less than a year after joining the job, college students who joined the job in the same period have left. Finally, except me, only one outstanding student graduated from Kyoto University in Cao Tianjiu. After discussion, we decided to apply for the candidate school for cadres of the Self-Defense Forces. As a result, we were both admitted.
However, a copy of the household registration book is required for admission. I wrote to my brother in Kagoshima and asked him to send it. I waited for a long time and there was no news. As a result, that colleague entered the cadre candidate school alone.
Later, I learned that my hometown refused to send me a household registration book because my brother was very angry at the time: "My family is frugal and sends you to college. Thanks to the teacher's introduction, you entered the company in Kyoto. As a result, you can't help but resign in less than half a year. What an ungrateful guy. " He was angry and refused to send a copy.
In the end, I was the only one left in this dilapidated company. I am alone, and I am very upset.
At that time, I thought, quitting my job and moving to a new position may not be successful. Some people may have a smoother life after quitting their jobs, but others will have a more miserable life. Some people stay in the company, work hard, succeed and live a good life; Some people stay in the office and work hard, but life is still very unsatisfactory. So it varies from person to person.
Is it right to leave the company or stay in the company? I made a decision after I was in trouble.
It was this decision that ushered in my "turning point in life".
I stayed alone in this decaying enterprise. I was forced to this point, but I was sober. "If you want to quit your job and leave the company, you must have a good reason. Just because you feel dissatisfied, you quit, so your future life may not be smooth sailing. " At that time, I still couldn't find a good reason to resign, so I decided to bury myself in my work first.
No more complaining, no more complaining, I concentrate on my current job, concentrate and go all out. At this time, I began to face the work seriously with a positive attitude with the spirit of hard work from the heart.
From then on, the seriousness of my work can really be described as "extremely".
In this company, my task is to study the cutting-edge new ceramic materials. I moved all the pots and pans into the laboratory, slept there day and night, even forgot to eat three meals a day, and devoted myself to research work.
This "extremely serious" working state, in the eyes of others, is really tragic.
Of course, because it is the most cutting-edge research, like horse-drawn carriages, it is not enough to use your dead strength alone. I subscribed to a professional magazine that published the latest papers on new ceramics in the United States, looked through the dictionary and borrowed professional books from the library. I often seize the evening time after work or on rest days, and study and study eagerly.
In the process of such efforts, incredible things happened! When I was in college, my major was organic chemistry. I only learned a little inorganic chemistry in order to find a job before graduation. However, at that time, I was still a young man under the age of 25, and I made outstanding scientific research achievements again and again, becoming a budding star in the field of inorganic chemistry. This is all because I made an important decision to concentrate on my work.
At the same time, the idea of quitting after entering the company and the confusion and troubles such as "what will your life be like" have miraculously disappeared. Not only that, I even have the feeling that "the work is so interesting that I don't know how to describe it". At this time, hard work is no longer regarded as hard work, hard work, I work harder, and people around me evaluate me more and more.
Before that, my life can be said to be suffering and frustration. Since then, unconsciously, my life has entered a virtuous circle. Soon, my first "great success" came.
Accompanying vocational guidance
Switching to a product manager is a hard experience.
For students who have not graduated or just graduated, the recruitment company does not require much experience. You can join the company if you have internship experience.
But for people who have already worked in the workplace, the first requirement of social recruitment is experience. Zero foundation, you can gain ability but not experience through self-study.
Therefore, if people in the workplace want to change jobs, product managers must think of various ways to supplement project experience:
1. Take the initiative to apply to the boss to try to get in touch with the product-related work. With real product practice, Sincerity can gain corresponding project experience. At the same time, self-produced products have grown rapidly.
2. Participate in training courses that can participate in real project learning. This kind of practical project course will generally provide you with real project experience, learn product skills while designing the project, and you can also get practical project experience after the project is completed.
