Who repaired Dujiangyan?

Dujiangyan was a water conservancy project built by Li Bing, the prefect of Shu County in Qin State during the Warring States Period.

Dujiangyan, located in the west of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is located on the Minjiang River in the west of Chengdu Plain. It is a huge engineering system consisting of headwaters (Yu Zui, Sha Fei weir and Baokoukou), irrigation diversion channels at all levels, various engineering buildings, large and medium-sized reservoirs and ponds. The canal head covers an area of more than 200 mu.

In the late Wang Dynasty (about 276 BC to 25 BC1year), Li Bing, the prefect of Shu County, summed up his previous experience in water control and organized people on both sides of Minjiang River to build Dujiangyan. During the Tang Dynasty, a flying sand weir was built. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), industrial water supply canal, Waijiang sluice and temporary diversion sluice of Feisha weir were built. In order to effectively manage and maintain the operation of Dujiangyan, the system of weir official and annual maintenance was established.
