Beijing-Harbin Expressway consists of Beijing-Shenyang Expressway and Shenyang-Harbin Expressway. Beijing-Shenyang-expressway is a national key construction project during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, with a total length of 658 kilometers and a total investment of nearly 20 billion yuan. It starts from the East Fourth Ring Road in Beijing, passes through Langfang City in Hebei Province, Baodi District in Tianjin, Tangshan City in Hebei Province, Qinhuangdao City, Huludao City in Liaoning Province, Jinzhou City and Panjin City, and ends at G 150 1 in Shenyang. The project started to be constructed in sections in September. 1996. After four years of construction, it was completed on September 15, 2000. It takes about 6 hours from Beijing to Shenyang.

This expressway has formed a new expressway in and out of the three northeastern provinces, connecting trunk national highways such as Tongsan (Tongjiang to Sanya), Beijing-Shanghai (Beijing to Shanghai) and Beijing-Zhuhai (Beijing to Zhuhai). It is a traffic artery connecting Northeast China and North China.

The main line of Jingha Expressway is from Beiguan roundabout in Tongzhou, Beijing to Yanjiao, Hebei. Beijing-Baodi-Tangshan-Qinhuangdao-Huludao-Jinzhou-Panjin-Liaozhong-Shenyang-Tieling-Siping-Changchun-Harbin.

This expressway is connected with the Sixth Ring Road in Beijing. This expressway was first opened to traffic on 1990. The original planned destination of expressway is Harbin, but the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway built in 1999 has become the main expressway leading from the capital of China to the northeast. Jingha Expressway turns to the northeast of National Highway 102 at Yanjiao.
