How to plant grape branches by cutting

The method of grape branch cutting planting is considered from the following aspects: preparation, branch selection, branch treatment, cutting method and post-maintenance.

1, preparation work

Before cutting grapes, in order to make grapes take root quickly, it is necessary to prepare cutting tools such as disinfectant, flowerpot and suitable soil in advance. Chicken manure, sawdust, river sand and garden soil can be fully mixed as culture soil.

2. Select a branch

Every June, select the new shoots or secondary branches of the year on the grape mother plant, cut 2-3 semi-lignified branches from them as cuttings, keep the top of the cuttings 1 green leaves, and then soak them in rooting water 10 minute.

3. Branching therapy

Because there are many varieties of grapes, in order to distinguish them easily in the later stage, each thick branch should be labeled in advance. 4. Cutting method

Put the prepared soil into the flowerpot, then insert the grape cuttings into the pot soil, and compact the surrounding soil to prevent the branches from lodging in the later stage. After cutting, spray water mist on them to keep the substrate moist, and finally cover them with plastic film to keep warm and moist.

5. Post maintenance

During the maintenance of grape cuttings, the plastic film should be uncovered every morning to breathe, and watered every 3-5 days. When the branches survive, the slow-release fertilizer is buried in the soil to promote the prosperity of the branches.
