A brief introduction to the major of School of Architecture and Art, Central South University

The college has seven professional departments, including architecture department, urban and rural planning department, industrial design department, visual communication and digital media design department, environmental art design department, music and dance department and fine arts department, and more than 10 research institutions such as architecture and urban research center, urban and rural planning and design research institute and industrial design research center. The Department of Industrial Design, School of Architecture and Art, Central South University, as one of the earliest institutions in China to carry out industrial design teaching, has formed a training system with the characteristics of Central South University. The Department of Industrial Design enrolls about 75 undergraduates every year, including more than 300 undergraduates and 40 graduate students. Teachers 13, professors 1 person, 4 associate professors, 2 doctors and 2 doctors. Most full-time teachers have rich practical experience in front-line design and solid professional knowledge. The new art building has three large computer rooms, including comprehensive model making, woodworking model making, digital model making, ergonomics laboratory and other experimental practice places. School-enterprise cooperation includes China Kitchen China Bathroom Experience Research Center (Central South University cooperates with Wan Jiale), Central South University Asia-Pacific Automobile Interior Research Center (Central South University cooperates with Hunan Asia-Pacific Industrial Co., Ltd.) and other Industry-University-Research platforms.

Published more than 200 papers. He published more than 200 papers, of which more than 30 were reprinted by ISTP, CSSCI and Xinhua Digest. 40uop works were selected for exhibitions at or above the provincial level, and students won more than 100 times in various design competitions, including China Industrial Design Week, Dongguan Cup and Red Dot100 times. The major of environmental art was founded in 1993, formerly known as the major of architectural decoration. It is the earliest similar discipline established in Hunan Province, and the postgraduate training began in 2004. Since 1993, environmental art has enrolled more than 700 students, of whom more than 500 have graduated. The employment rate of graduates is 85%, and self-employment 15%. Most students are mainly active in Beijing after graduation, and Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Guangzhou and other cities are engaged in architecture and interior decoration, landscape and environmental design, real estate development, decoration construction and management. At present, there are 200 undergraduates in 8 classes in 4 grades, 24 full-time graduate students in 3 grades, and 15 doctoral students have graduated. Graduate employment rate 100%, assigned to universities and design units to engage in teaching and scientific research.
