Diseases of vascular system

The vascular system includes blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. Vascular disease is a proper term, which refers to hemangioma and vascular malformation, the latter including vascular malformation and lymphatic malformation.

Most of the vascular diseases we encounter in clinic are vascular malformations, which means that the proportion of real hemangioma in vascular diseases is not large, especially in adults, and most of them are vascular malformations. Because hemangiomas tend to fade naturally in childhood, there are almost no real hemangiomas (except hemangioma residues) in adult vascular diseases. But childhood vascular diseases may be hemangioma or vascular malformation. As for the ratio of the two, the current survey data in this area is not perfect. It is generally believed that hemangioma is the most common vascular disease in childhood.
