Class 62 is my first class. In the first year of work, the school leaders rationally considered my size (skinny) and personality (gentle) and did not arrange my class teacher's work. At that time, due to the influence of migrant workers and family difficulties, the student drain was very serious. It is a long-term and important job for the class teacher to retain students and control the flow.
No matter what you do, the beginning is always important, and the method is also important. I know that some students' families are in financial difficulties, and the tuition of several hundred dollars is really a burden for these families, and there are also several children attending school at the same time.
In the first few days, many parents asked me to guarantee tuition, and I never refused. Later, I simply publicly promised my classmates: "No matter whether you pay or not, as long as you enter my class, I promise to send you books. As for tuition, that's between me and your parents. "
My promise has achieved good results: First, the tuition fee I promised my students at the beginning of each semester was seven or eight thousand yuan (my salary was only one month in 420 yuan in the first few years), which I always guaranteed the most among the four head teachers in parallel classes; Secondly, during my time as the head teacher of Class 62, no student lost (which is also one of the important reasons).
The reason why I can guarantee students so much money is not only to complete the work task (the school does not stipulate that the class teacher must guarantee students), but I have my own considerations: students can't drop out of school because of poverty, and most parents will be honest.
Later facts proved that my judgment was basically correct.
Near the end of the term, the class teacher has a similar job-urging students to pay tuition fees (otherwise the school finance office will deduct the guarantor's salary). Also pay attention to the method of urging tuition fees. Unlike other class teachers, I don't often go to the countryside to urge my tuition.
Before the end of the weekend, I sent a note to every student I had guaranteed, which read: "xxx's parents: near the end of the term, the school finance office urged the payment of tuition fees. Please bring the tuition fees I guaranteed for xxx to your children next week. Thank you! " This move really works. Not only did I avoid the pain of running errands, but I also guaranteed the students' tuition. Most students could give me the money quickly after receiving the note.
There is another thing about decorating the classroom, which I recall now and I am deeply impressed.
Shortly after the beginning of the first year of junior high school, the school arranged for the class teacher to decorate the classroom, with a unified model. When I put up banners in front of and behind the classroom, I wrote a couplet to encourage students: "Better than eating, better than wearing, better than learning; Do more work, use more brains and talk more about efficiency. "I write couplets with my own brush and let students post them.
Just when I was smug and complacent, I was criticized by the headmaster at a general meeting of all teachers not long after: "There was something wrong with the layout of a class, and the unified banner was useless, but I was smart and the classroom was decorated in various ways ..." Later, I really forgot whether the banner had changed.
I often use force when I take this course. I still remember the scene where Liu Fan and other students were physically punished by me.
At that time, in fact, it may be the same now. There are always some naughty boys in the class.
One night, I visited the dormitory and found that there was candlelight in the boys' dormitory, and occasionally there was a slight voice. I looked through the glass and saw some boys playing poker (what was the bet, now I forget, maybe it was money). I called them out, severely criticized them first, and then told them to look for them the next day.
In order to make an example, I invited the boys who played cards the night before and stood side by side in front of the podium the next night. I remember kicking a student. My feet are small and my shoes are big. I passed with one foot, but people didn't kick, and my shoes flew away. This situation is completely unexpected to me. I was angry and funny, but I controlled my emotions and didn't laugh.
My classmates laughed at first when one of my shoes kicked off, but soon calmed down (my classmates are not so afraid of me at ordinary times, but they are still a little afraid of me as long as they see my serious face). I quickly put on my shoes and pulled out a bamboo stick from a bamboo broom next to the trash can. I asked the students to hold out their palms and each of them smoked a few bamboo sticks. Those students are so strong that no one cries.
Corporal punishment is only a means, not an end. A few bamboo sticks were given to the students, and ideological education was needed to make them understand why the teacher punished them. Only when they realize their mistakes can they correct them. I gave my parents and other students ideological education from the aspects of making money, what is the current task, and playing cards is a bad habit.
Before my ideological education was over, a student named "Liu Fan" came up to me and said, "Teacher, wait a minute. I know! " Before I could fully react, he ran outside the classroom, found a piece of broken glass and immediately drew blood from his finger. I was frightened when I saw Liu Fan's finger bleeding, so I quickly took him to the hospital. Fortunately, the wound was not deep, so I sewed a few stitches and wrapped it in gauze. I paid the medical bills and took Liu Fan back to school. Tell him repeatedly along the way that you can realize your mistakes and won't hurt yourself.
Ten years later, Liu Fan, a student who had been punished by me, not only didn't bear a grudge against me, but also invited me to have dinner with the monitor. As soon as we met, I said I had caused trouble to the teacher before. How can I not be moved by such a student?
It's a pity that I didn't take Class 62 with me for my own development. After the second day of junior high school, I passed the county entrance examination and became a teacher in Luxi No.2 Middle School. In those two years, I didn't leave any impression on how much effort I made for this class and how much I did for my classmates. I don't think it's necessary to have too many impressions. Doing more and doing less is the duty and conscience of the class teacher.
