After 1970s, relying on the accumulation of edible oil, Oei Ek Tjhong began to enter the paper industry. Today, he owns 29 paper mills all over the world and is one of the largest paper enterprises in the world. His paper industry is also the backbone of Indonesia's economy, and so is the so-called rich country. Besides the titles of "king of edible oil" and "king of paper making", Oei Ek Tjhong is also a famous patriotic overseas Chinese.
