What is an electrodeless lamp and how does it work?
An electrodeless lamp consists of a high-frequency generator, a coupler and a bulb. The working principle is that the high-frequency generator generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field after being electrified, and the high-frequency electromagnetic field is inductively coupled into the lamp through a coupler, so that the gas in the bulb is ionized and plasma is formed. When the electrons in the atom return to the ground state after the plasma is excited, they will radiate ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 253.7nm, and the fluorescent powder on the inner wall of the bulb will be excited by ultraviolet rays to generate visible light for illumination (the last two steps are exactly the same as fluorescent lamps and energy-saving lamps).
There are two kinds of electrodeless lamps: high frequency and low frequency. The frequency of high-frequency electrodeless lamp is 2.65MHz, the light efficiency is 80Lm/W, the power range is 10W~200W ~ 200W, and the shape is generally bubble-shaped. Low-frequency electrodeless lamp has a high technical content, with two frequencies of 250KHz and 140KHz, the light efficiency can reach 85Lm/W, the power range is 20W~400W, and its shape is generally annular.
The key to the quality of electrodeless lamp lies in the magnetic core and electrolytic capacitor in the high frequency generator. The former affects the conversion efficiency and directly affects the light efficiency. The latter plays a key role in life, because as long as one part is damaged, the whole lamp will not light up, which will end the life of the electrodeless lamp, and the electrolytic capacitor is the weakest link.
The longest service life of electrodeless lamp is as high as 10 year, generally reaching 6-8 years. Therefore, electrodeless lamps can be the first choice for lighting products in factories, institutions, schools, squares, halls, stations, docks, airports, highways, tunnels, bridges, municipal roads and so on. It is especially suitable for places with high requirements on lighting reliability, long-term lighting, difficulty in maintaining and replacing lamps or high cost of replacing light sources. Because there is no filament and electrode in the bulb, the electrodeless lamp works by high-frequency electromagnetic coupling, and its life can be as long as 60 thousand hours. Its service life is 10 times that of fluorescent lamps and 12 times that of metal halide lamps and high-pressure sodium lamps.
An electrodeless lamp with luminous efficiency ≥ 65 ~ 1 10lm/w and power factor ≥0.98/125W has the same brightness as a 500W incandescent lamp, saving nearly 80% energy than an incandescent lamp and 50% energy than a high-pressure sodium lamp. At the same time, it has no electromagnetic pollution, extremely stable lighting, no flicker, high illumination, low glare, comfortable light color and good eyesight health.
Can be used for AC and DC; In addition, it has the advantage of wide voltage range. It can work in the voltage fluctuation range of 150 V ~ 260 V, and has low requirements for ambient temperature. It can work stably as usual at the temperature of -20℃ to +50℃ (most areas except Northeast China), without maintenance, and has strong earthquake resistance. There is also the advantage of no preheating, and it can be started instantly at any time.
Electrodeless lamps also have the advantage of high color rendering. Electrodeless lamps use tricolor phosphors, which emit warm white light closer to sunlight. Color rendering index Ra is greater than 80, and color temperature is 2700 K ~ 7000 K The light color is soft and can be well coordinated with the atmosphere of the lighting environment, which is suitable for the lighting requirements of different occasions.
At present, electrodeless lamps are competing with LED lamps for the fourth generation of electric light sources. In fact, there is really no need to fight, each has its own position and no one can replace anyone. Electrodeless lamps are suitable for high-end and public places, and LED lamps are suitable for low-end and public houses.
