Has Zibo Light Rail stopped?

It has not been stopped, but it is under construction.

According to the World Rail Transit Information Network, Zibo Light Rail has not stopped construction, but is under construction. Zibo Light Rail mainly refers to the light rail reconstruction project of Jaco Railway, which transforms the former Jaco Railway into an electrified, high-speed and public transit light rail line, connecting Zibo City and Boshan District, with a total length of 39.8 kilometers and 8 stations. This light rail project started construction at the end of June 2022, and it is planned to be completed and put into use on June 1 2024, which is expected to become the first light rail line in Shandong. Zibo Light Rail has not been stopped, but Zibo has announced that it will build a subway. Zibo has formulated the urban rail transit network planning, and plans to build four subway lines with a total length of 1 and 6 1.4km, with a total of 63 stations. However, judging from the permanent population and long-term passenger flow in Zibo, Zibo can't meet the requirements of applying for the construction of subway system for the time being. Therefore, Zibo's subway planning has not been approved by the state, so it can only be put on hold temporarily.
