Guangzhou Panyu Vocational and Technical College (formerly Panyu Institute of Technology, Panyu Vocational and Technical College) was established in 1993 and officially approved by the Ministry of Education in September, 1997. It is the first batch of public full-time ordinary higher vocational colleges in China and the first one in Guangzhou. In 2003, it was recognized as a leading institution of higher vocational education by Guangzhou Municipal Government.
