What are Li Shizhen's life stories?
Li Shizhen, whose name is Dongbi, is from Qichun County, Hubei Province. Born in the 13th year of Zheng De (A.D. 15 18), he died in the 21st year of Zongshen Wanli (A.D. 1593). Li Shizhen, who was born in a famous family of doctors in the world, has a grandfather and a father who are both local famous doctors. But at that time, the status of folk doctors was very low, and the Li family was often bullied by officials and gentry. So his father asked him to study and take exams, hoping that he could enter the officialdom to shine and get ahead. According to his father's wishes, Li Shizhen studied hard. At the age of 65,438+04, he was a scholar, but he failed in three exams in Sun Shan. Tired of boring stereotyped writing, Li Shizhen gave up his plan to be an official in the imperial examination and concentrated on studying medicine.
Li Shizhen likes reading and reading extensively since he was a child. After giving up the imperial examination, he devoted all his energy to medical books. It is said that he stayed at home for ten years, read almost all medical books, studied carefully and called himself a doctor. Over time, his medical skills have improved greatly and his reputation has spread far and wide. Many princes and ministers also invited him to visit their families when they heard about it.
At that time, Zhu Shunwang, who was a vassal, specially invited Li Shizhen to visit his son. King Fushun's son loves snuff, uncooked rice and dirt. According to the above symptoms, Li Shizhen diagnosed him as a worm disease, so he cured this strange disease with insecticide.
Soon, it reached the ears of the king of Chu who was a vassal in Wuchang, and the king of Chu asked Li Shizhen to be a doctor. One day, the son of the king of Chu suddenly fainted and was unconscious. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, Li Shizhen boldly applied drugs to save the prince from the brink of death. In order to express his gratitude, the King of Chu specially recruited Li Shizhen as the "official who presided over the sacrificial ceremony" in the Chu Palace and was in charge of the "good doctor's office" in the palace. During this period, he cured many diseases. The king of Chu tried to reward him many times, but Li Shizhen politely refused.
In the long-term reading and clinical practice, Li Shizhen found that the descriptions of drugs in ancient herbal books were not only complicated but also many mistakes, and even many toxic drugs were considered as drugs that could be "taken for a long time to prolong life". Therefore, he decided to re-compile a rich and more reliable cursive script to correct the mistakes of existing medical classics.
Around the age of 38, Li Shizhen was recommended to be admitted to Imperial Hospital. At that time, Thai hospital was messed up by some quacks. Li Shizhen worked here for only one year, then resigned and returned to China. When he entered the Imperial Hospital, it was not the official position that had the greatest influence on him, but the pharmacopoeia books collected by the Imperial Hospital. There, he read a lot of royal pharmacopoeia and his medical knowledge advanced by leaps and bounds.
The compilation of Pharmacopoeia was a huge project in ancient times. In order to prepare for compilation, Li Shizhen read many reference books, and the medical books at home had already been finished. He used the opportunity of practicing medicine to borrow books everywhere. It is said that he also borrowed books from Chu and Tai Hospital. Although he read a lot of books, he found that some problems and mistakes in ancient books still could not be solved. This makes Li Shizhen very embarrassed.
Later, under the guidance of his father, Li Shizhen realized that to write this book, he should not only "read thousands of books" but also "take the Wan Li road". Therefore, he began to adopt the strategy of "visiting the Bai family" and "interviewing all directions", went deep into the mountains and ravines, visited famous doctors and scholars, sought folk prescriptions and collected drug specimens.
In this way, Li Shizhen solved many difficult problems through long-term on-the-spot investigation and consulting a large number of medical books, and finally completed this famous medical book Compendium of Materia Medica at the age of 6 1 year. The book * * * has 52 volumes of nearly 2 million words, including 1094 kinds of plant medicines, 798 kinds of minerals, animals and other medicines, 374 kinds of Li medicines, and more than 0/0000 prescriptions, with a large number of drawings, which is unprecedented in the medical history of China.
Compendium of Materia Medica is one of the greatest medical masterpieces in ancient China. It comprehensively and systematically summarized the pharmaceutical achievements before the mid-Ming Dynasty, which not only raised Chinese medicine to a new level, but also had a far-reaching impact on the development of botany, zoology, chemistry and mineralogy. After its publication, this book soon spread abroad and was translated into more than a dozen languages, including Japanese, French, German and English, and spread all over the world.
In addition to medical research, Li Shizhen has made in-depth research on diagnostics, acupuncture and Chinese medicine theory, and has also produced a large number of works, such as Pulse of Hu Ling, Pulse Diagnosis of Qi and Jing, and Graph Theory of Five Zang Organs, all of which are treasures of Chinese medicine. In addition, Li Shizhen has profound attainments in history and literature, and has written works such as Tang Law and Poetry Talk.
Li Shizhen used his whole life's energy to leave precious wealth for mankind. He not only made great contributions to Chinese medicine, but also promoted the development of natural science. 1593, Li Shizhen died and was buried in Zhulinhu Village, qi zhou Town, Qichun County, Hubei Province. Nowadays, Tomb-Sweeping Day, a local Chinese doctor, visits his grave every year, and some even bring grass home from the grave to get rid of diseases and disasters.
