So far, there is only one airport in Xishuangbanna, called Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport.

Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport is located in Gasa Town, Jinghong City, the capital of Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, about 5.6 kilometers away from the city center. It is a 4D-level civil international airport. As of April 2019, Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport has one base airline, Sichuan Airlines; three airlines, including China Eastern Airlines, Lucky Air, and Sichuan Airlines, have invested in overnight transport capacity at the airport.

Historical evolution:

In December 1987, construction of Xishuangbanna Airport began. On October 1, 1989, the Civil Aviation Xishuangbanna Station was established. On February 13, 1990, the Southwest Regional Administration of Civil Aviation of China approved the Yunnan Provincial Bureau to open a route from Kunming to Banna; on April 7, Xishuangbanna Airport was officially opened to navigation.

On January 1, 1997, the State Council of the People's Republic of China approved Xishuangbanna Airport as a national port airport and renamed it Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport. On December 31, 2001, Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport separated from the airline.

On April 26, 2004, Yunnan Airport Group Company was officially established, and the Civil Aviation Xishuangbanna Station was changed to Yunnan Airport Group Company Xishuangbanna Airport, which is affiliated to Yunnan Airport Group Company.
