An ordinary piano keyboard has 88 keys. Except for the first three keys and the last key, all the other keys are regularly arranged in the form of seven white keys+five black keys = 1 group 12 keys. We know that the names of the seven white keys are C, D, E, F, G, A and B in turn, but there are so many groups of keys on the piano, how can we distinguish the key names of different groups?

First of all, among these keys, the C in the middle group is called "Central C". On the staff, this key is C with a line under the treble clef and C with a line above the bass clef, which is also the reference sound we want to use. Below I will introduce the grouping method of keys in detail.

This kind of writing is more consistent, and schools use this way more. In C major, we have seven sounds of C, D, E, F, G, A and B corresponding to seven white keys, which we call natural sounds. And the five tones corresponding to black keys, which we call inflection, are represented by the symbols of rising and falling.

So the black keys between C and D can be called #C or bD, which is pronounced C-rise or D-drop in Chinese and C-rise or D-drop in English. Similarly, the black keys between D and E is #D or bE, the inflection between F and G is #F or bG, between G and A is #G or bA, and between A and B is #A or bB. More, we habitually call these five inflections #C, bE, #F, bA and bB. We will often use these black keys sounds when studying size, harmony and acoustics in the future.

We have learned so many sounds and grouped the sounds on the piano, so how are these sounds determined?
