How to apply to become a layman?

Hello, I intend to apply for a layman like you. Just a while ago, I told you about the steps to apply for a layman now.

First of all, it is best to make it clear to the monks and nuns in the temple, that is, is there a conversion ceremony here? If they answer that they will hold a conversion ceremony, the second step is to write an application and give it to the temple. The content of the application is to write down the applicant's name, gender, date of birth, home address, contact number, etc. Then simply write down your understanding of Buddhism and why you want to convert to Buddhism. Just give this application for conversion to the temple.

The conversion ceremony in temples is not often held, but has a specific day, and the date of the conversion ceremony in each temple is basically the same. The dates of our ceremonies here are February 19, April 19, June 19 and September 19 (according to the lunar calendar). We hold one more conversion ceremony here than other monasteries, that is, April 19. Other monasteries only have three conversion ceremonies every year. In fact, those days are the birthday of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the enlightenment day of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the anniversary of Guanyin Bodhisattva's becoming a monk, all in the lunar calendar.

On the day when the conversion ceremony is held in the temple, the ceremony usually starts around noon 12 ~ 1 and ends around 3 ~4 pm. On the day of your conversion, you'd better invite a book called "Buddhist chanting" in advance, because at that time (when attending the ceremony), you have to recite some scriptures, such as the "three conversions" in the Buddhist chanting.

This year10.5 165438+ there is another conversion ceremony, that is, the 19th day of the ninth lunar month. This is the last conversion ceremony this year. If you miss it, you will have to wait for next year, so hurry up!

Moreover, generally speaking, on September 19th of the lunar calendar, if a temple has the ability to be ordained, it will not only hold a conversion ceremony, but also hold an ordained ceremony at the same time, that is, the day when a layman is subject to the Five Commandments, the Eight Rings and the Bodhisattva. This is a bigger scene. I'm going to convert this day, too. I hope you can catch up. Amitabha.
