At the same time, the chaiye 1 well, which was jointly implemented by the Oil and Gas Resources Investigation Center of China Geological Survey and Qinghai Oilfield Company, became the first shale gas parameter well in Qaidam Basin.

According to preliminary estimation, the shale gas reservoir in Babaoshan Basin of dulan county has reached 600 billion cubic meters. Babaoshan basin is located in a faulted sedimentary basin between the faults in the middle and south of Kunming, with good stratigraphic stability and continuity. The main lithology is gray-black siltstone and black shale, covering an area of about 500 square kilometers in the whole basin. The work area is located in the hinterland of Kunlun Mountain, with high altitude, steep gully, rainy and grassy, and high environmental protection requirements.
