What does a converter steel worker do?

The work mainly includes: (1) directing cranes or operating feeding equipment to load raw materials such as molten iron and scrap steel into the converter; (2) operating the oxygen lance, adjusting the flow of oxygen and cooling water, and igniting and injecting ironmaking water; (3) Operate the sub-gun, observe the instrument, adjust and control the furnace condition, and add the slagging agent; (4) shaking furnace temperature measurement and sampling: pouring slag into a slag tank and pouring molten steel into a ladle; (5) Pay attention to the slag discharge of the slag tank, and add mold flux and alloy materials into the ladle; (6) Repair the furnace or splash slag to protect the furnace, repair the taphole and clean up the residual steel and residue under the furnace; (7) operating equipment such as powder spraying, argon blowing and vacuum treatment to treat molten steel; (8) Troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
