College profile:

Guigang vocational college is a public full-time higher vocational and technical college approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and put on record by the Ministry of Education.

The college is committed to the demand for talents in economic and social development, offering specialties, cultivating talents in short supply, adhering to the school-running philosophy of "all for students' success and all for students' employment", cooperating with industries and enterprises to run schools, paying attention to skills training, ensuring teaching quality and promoting students' employment.

The college is located in the urban area of Guigang, with convenient transportation. The old campus is located in the city center, adjacent to the railway station, bus terminal, East Lake Park and city stadium. The planned land for the new campus is 805 mu, which will be completed in two phases. In 2007, 1000 students moved into the new campus, and the students happily studied and lived in the new teaching building, new dormitory and new laboratory. After the completion of the first phase of the project in 2008, the whole college will be relocated.

There are more than 3000 students in the college, including full-time teachers 137, including 22 associate professors and 78 lecturers. There are six departments in the hospital, namely, the Department of Electronic Machinery, the Department of Economic Management, the Department of Teacher Education, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Art and the Department of Sociology. There are 18 majors: automobile inspection and maintenance technology, automobile technical service and marketing, computer application technology, applied electronic technology, logistics management, marketing, procurement and supply management, e-commerce, tourism management, social work, community management and service, secretarial, Chinese, business English, applied Vietnamese, computer art design, decorative art design and music performance.

Cultivation mode:

The college implements the "double certificate" system and the "2+ 1" talent training mode. Students studying in our college study basic theories, train basic skills and cultivate professional quality in the first two years, and then find jobs after the last year's internship to ensure that the theories are in place and the skills are available. Students can get "double certificates" by passing the exam: namely, college graduation certificate and national vocational qualification certificate.

Our institute cooperates with Nanning Secco Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. to jointly cultivate talents in logistics management and procurement and supply management. Guangxi Secco Logistics Skills Training Center is the first enterprise-funded base in China to provide logistics skills training for students in our college. Students can practice practical work skills and practice with WMS system in the training center, so as to achieve "zero" distance docking with the job skills demand. Nanning Secco is responsible for the employment placement of each graduate, and students can arrange employment after two years of study. Enterprises such as Shenzhen Lu Heng International Logistics, Shanghai Yilong International Logistics and Shenzhen Tengbang International Logistics have come to our college to recruit students, and the demand for graduates is in short supply.

Our hospital signed a cooperation agreement with nanning college for vocational technology. Since 2008, cooperative education has been the first of its kind among art majors. The Art Department of our college and nanning college for vocational technology College of Art and Engineering jointly build, share resources and cultivate outstanding talents. Cooperative majors include: computer art design (decorative art design direction), decorative art design (interior design technology direction), and music performance.

Our college takes shenzhen polytechnic Vocational Training Center as the training base for students majoring in automobile inspection and maintenance technology, and is responsible for providing automobile maintenance electrician skills training and vocational skills appraisal examination services for junior students in our college, arranging internships and recommending employment.

● Students majoring in applied Vietnamese in our college can study professional courses at Oriental University in Hanoi, Vietnam, and obtain corresponding certificates to promote students' employment.

Our college and Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College signed a cooperation agreement focusing on the construction of teachers, majors and experimental training bases, giving full play to the advantages of Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College's training base, arranging students' internship training, ensuring the quality of professional teaching and promoting students' employment.

● Our institute cooperates with Shunde Vocational and Technical College in automobile inspection and maintenance technology, mainly to cultivate the backbone of automobile maintenance technology. The culture mode of 2+ 1 was adopted. Students study in our college for two years. In the last year, outstanding students can be selected to Shunde Vocational and Technical College for skills training, and after the training, they can be directly arranged for employment in Shunde Xinchang Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd.

Students majoring in logistics management, procurement and supply management of grade 06 have been booked in advance by three large international logistics enterprises in Shenzhen, and will enter international logistics enterprises for internship and employment in May 2008.

Students majoring in logistics management, procurement and supply management in our college have been booked by 12 international logistics enterprises, and all of them will enter the enterprise internship before May 2009.

◆ Most of the students majoring in automobile inspection and maintenance technology in our college have worked in large auto repair shops and 4S shops in Shenzhen, and their employment prospects are good. At present, some students are receiving pre-job employment training in Shunde Vocational and Technical College, and after the training, they will become the technical backbone of Shunde Xinchang Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd.

Students majoring in applied Vietnamese in Grade 05 of our college studied related professional courses at Oriental University in Hanoi, Vietnam, and obtained graduation certificates. Many students have found jobs in Hanoi, Vietnam.
