In the new round of regional development strategy of "one area, three belts" that Shandong Province is striving to implement, Weifang is not only the key development area of the Yellow River Delta high-efficiency eco-economic zone, but also one of the seven frontier cities of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone and one of the four cities of Jiaodong Peninsula High-end Industrial Cluster. The development opportunity is once in a blue moon. Next, we are determined to firmly grasp and make good use of the favorable opportunity of Shandong Province to build Peninsula Blue Economic Zone and High-end Industrial Cluster. Relying on Weifang Port, with the goal of building a 1-billion-level industrial chain near the port, we will vigorously develop coastal high-efficiency eco-industrial belts, speed up the construction of coastal logistics parks, and make positive contributions to promoting the development of blue economy and the gathering of high-end industries.

according to the master plan of Weifang port approved by Weifang municipal government and the strategic plan of regional economic development of Shandong provincial party Committee and provincial government, the development idea for the next period is to strive to build Sendamei port into a modern, regional and ecological port with both domestic and foreign trade, reasonable berth scale and complete service functions in about ten years. By 215, the port throughput will reach 5 million tons, and by 22, the port throughput will reach over 1 million tons. By then, Weifang Sendamei Port will surely become a new economic growth point on the south bank of Laizhou Bay in Bohai Sea, and will surely make new and greater contributions to the development of Weifang and surrounding areas and the efficient ecological and economic development of the Yellow River Delta.
