How do basketball referees take the exam?

Referees who are eligible to apply for basketball at all levels must apply in person. The application procedure is: apply for a higher level on the basis of the existing level. Referees without grade titles must start from the lowest grade of the third grade and gradually apply for a higher grade. After an individual application, the grass-roots unit shall assess the actual situation of the recommended person according to his own application.

Recommended to the relevant examination and approval departments, national referees must take the unified examination organized by the Basketball Department of the State Sports General Administration and the Basketball Association, and first-class referees must take the examination organized by the Sports Commission and the Basketball Association of provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions (municipalities directly under the Central Government).
