Pan Yue and Oracle Bone Inscriptions of Pan Yue.

Oracle Bone Inscriptions is the oldest script in China, which has been lost for more than 3000 years. It was not until 1899 that it was discovered from the Yin Ruins, with ***4500 words. Oracle Bone Inscriptions is an ancient writing carved on tortoise shells and animal bones with sharp stones, and its contents are mostly related to divination, which is difficult to identify, just like a sealed book, but Oracle Bone Inscriptions is very valuable for studying the history of primitive society and slave society. So for more than a century, many experts have been trying to decipher it. Wang Guowei, Guo Moruo and others only deciphered dozens of words, and the remaining 3,000 words were the most difficult to break through.

Pan Yue, a professor at Xuzhou Institute of Education, has made great achievements in the study of ancient Chinese characters and is obsessed with it. It took him 20 years to break through and conquer more than 3000 hard-to-recognize Oracle characters, which shocked the Chinese and foreign ancient philology circles. More than 30 newspapers and periodicals at home and abroad reported the news. At that time, "Pan Yue fever" and "Oracle Bone Inscriptions fever" appeared. Pan Yue is an internationally recognized expert on Oracle Bone Inscriptions studies.

For this reason, Pan Yue published A Collection of 3,000 Oracle Bone Inscriptions, which collected all the research achievements of Pan Yue on Oracle Bone Inscriptions, including 3,000 pieces of Oracle Bone Inscriptions's decoding, the word-formation principle of each Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Oracle Bone Inscriptions's decoding methods, the evolution of ancient Chinese characters and so on. This book is divided into six volumes.

Pan Yue and his student Zheng Benwei also published Oracle Bone Inscriptions's Interpretation of Dacheng, which is by far the most complete and accurate large-scale reference book for Oracle Bone Inscriptions's glyph interpretation, with a total of 20 volumes. The book * * * received 4,500 articles in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, of which 3,000 were deciphered by Professor Pan Yue, and the rest 1500 were deciphered by other ancient philologists at home and abroad. In the above 1500 Oracle Bone Inscriptions, there are more than 500 decipherers who made mistakes, and Pan Yue corrected them.

After Oracle Bone Inscriptions, there were bronze inscriptions, and the words engraved on metal objects were hard to understand. Experts * * * deciphered 3772, among which Pan Yue deciphered11. At the same time, Pan Yue also corrected the wrong interpretation (about one third) of the inscription 266 1 deciphered by others, and gave a correct explanation.

Pan Yue and his student Zheng Benwei co-authored two books, one is Jin Wenyin Zhou Dadian, and the other is China Ancient Characters Integration. The latter book * * * has collected more than 4,000 rubbings of ancient Chinese characters, which is very precious. These ancient characters include all kinds of ancient characters before the official script matured, including 4,500 in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, 3,772 in inscriptions on bronze, 0/700 in ancient Wen Tao, more than 6,000 in Qin and Han Dynasties, and more than 2,800 in bamboo slips and silks.

Pan Yue also researched Peng Zu's life and the big Peng State he founded, and published the book Peng Zu.
