It is reported that a 58-year-old municipal official in Changsha fainted in the front line of flood fighting in the early morning and died after being rescued.

Zhou Wenjun fainted at 2: 00 a.m. on July 7, 20 15, Comrade Zhou Wenjun, a staff member of the drainage team of Tianxin District Municipal Engineering Administration, Changsha City, Hunan Province, died at the age of 58 due to overwork from continuous operation.

Since the rainstorm on June 23, 2007, the staff of the drainage team of Tianxin District Municipal Bureau has been sticking to their posts and is responsible for pumping and dredging the accumulated water points in the whole area. Zhou Wenjun successively participated in pumping and dredging water accumulation points such as Queyuan Road, Xiangfu Road and Xihu Road, and fought for nearly a week. When he learned that the support team was organized to go to Ningxiang for disaster relief, Zhou Wenjun offered to support him considering his continuous operations, but he refused to go.

On July 6th, Tianxin District dispatched large-scale pumping equipment and three staff members to support Yuelu District in pumping and draining water after receiving the task of preventing finger pointing from the city. Comrade Zhou Wenjun volunteered to go to the front again. After arriving at the scene at 8 pm, Zhou Wenjun and his colleagues began to pump water and drain water. At 3 am, Zhou Wenjun fainted by the water pump. Tired from continuous operations, Zhou Wenjun gave his life in the first line of this flood fighting and emergency rescue, at the age of 58.
