Shanghai Tangqiao Middle School was founded in 1957, formerly known as Dongchang No.4 Middle School. Since its establishment, the school has undergone several changes: at the beginning of its establishment, it was a junior middle school, and 1962 was expanded into an ordinary middle school; 1984 in order to meet the needs of the structural reform of secondary education, the senior middle school was changed to "Shanghai Tangqiao Vocational and Technical School", and general education and vocational education were mixed.
