Characteristics of fluidized bed furnace

The advantages of the fluidized bed furnace are: ① it can burn high-quality coal, but also all kinds of inferior coal that ordinary grate furnaces and hearth furnaces can't burn; (2) The heat transfer effect of buried tubes in the bed is very good, which is about 5 ~ 10 times that of ordinary boiler tubes; (3) Due to the low combustion temperature of the fluidized bed, the amount of NOX produced in the flue gas is less. If limestone or dolomite is properly added to the raw materials, the sulfur in coal can be removed and the SO2 content in flue gas can be reduced.

The disadvantages of fluidized bed furnace are: ① fine fuel in fluidized bed is easily carried away by flue gas, so the unburned loss is large and the combustion efficiency is lower than that of chamber combustion furnace; (2) There are more fly ash in the flue gas, and the heating surface of the boiler is easy to wear; (3) The air pressure of the blower required for blowing is high, so the power consumption is high; ④ It is difficult to uniformly feed coal and arrange buried pipes in the fluidized bed. ⑤ When burning inferior coal with high ash content, in order not to pollute the environment with a large amount of fly ash, an efficient and large-capacity ash removal device must be equipped. For the above reasons, it is still difficult to develop large-capacity fluidized bed boilers.

Industrial application

It is mainly used in the production of sulfuric acid by contact method, as a generating device for producing sulfur dioxide from iron disulfide.
