Why is Fengcheng, Jiangxi called the ghost capital?

Fengcheng, Jiangxi is called a ghost town because everyone thinks it is a ghost town of Fengdu, which refers to the ghost town of Fengdu, Jiangxi, formerly known as Du Feng.

In ancient times, it was called "Bazi Biedu", and the county was established in the Eastern Han Dynasty and Yongyuan. It has a history of nearly 2000 years. It is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Fengdu County, downstream of Chongqing, and it is a tourist attraction for passenger transport by cruise ships in the Yangtze River. Similar to the legendary "Du Feng", the ancients believed in reincarnation, so there are too many fairy tales about the impermanence of black and white in the underworld, such as Meng Po Tang.

In this ghost culture, another name of the underworld is Du Feng, which is homophonic with the "Fengdu" in Fengdu County, Chongqing. Fengdu Ghost Town, formerly known as Du Feng Ghost Town, is located in Fengdu County on the north bank of the Yangtze River and downstream of Chongqing. It is a tourist attraction for cruise passengers in the Yangtze River. Also known as "the tourist capital" and "the hometown of divine comedy in China". It is famous for its various buildings and shapes of the underworld. Ghost towns include Hengha Temple, Tian Zi Temple, Naihe Bridge and Huang Quan Road.

Because of its relationship with Luofeng Mountain, Du Feng is considered as a ghost town. Legend has it that there is a mysterious and barren place in northern China called Luofeng Mountain, which is recognized as the destination of the dead. Later, after various strange legends of Taoism, Buddhism and folk beliefs were transplanted to each other, the word "Tan" in Sichuan was mistaken for "Feng" in Luofeng Mountain.
