Introduction to Zhongwei Shapotou Airport

The airport is located in the northwest of Zhongwei City, about 9 kilometers away from the city and 15 kilometers away from the 5A-level Shapotou Scenic Area. The total controlled land is 2,745 acres, the runway is 2,800 meters long, 45 meters wide, the controlled length is 6,500 meters, and the controlled width is 400 meters. The take-off and landing direction is due east-west, and the main landing direction is east. It is a Category I precision approach. The airport is equipped with advanced navigation control, aviation meteorology, communication and navigation, ice and snow removal facilities (de-icing trucks, snow blowers) and navigation lighting systems. It can accommodate the take-off and landing of Boeing 737, Airbus 320 series and below models. Originally named Zhongwei Xiangshan Airport, it was changed to its current name in August 2012.
