Jieyang Health School is the only public health technical secondary school in Jieyang City. The school’s predecessor was the Jieyang Truth Hospital Nursing School founded in 1913. In 1958, it was reestablished as Jieyang County People's Hospital Nursing School; later it was changed to Shantou Jieyang Health Workers Technical School. After Jieyang was removed from the county and established as a city in May 1992, it was renamed "Jieyang Health Workers Technical Secondary School"; in January 1993, it was renamed "Jieyang Health Adult Secondary Vocational School";
