What material is good for soles?

Commonly used soles are made of the following materials:

(1) rubber: used for soles of various sports shoes; Advantages: good wear resistance, non-slip, elasticity, not easy to break, good flexibility, good ductility, stable shrinkage, good hardness and good flexibility. Disadvantages: heavy weight, easy to frost (quality problem), easy to corrode (environmental protection problem)

(2)PU: polymer polyurethane synthetic material, which is commonly used in the midsole of basketball and tennis shoes, and can also be directly used in the outsole of casual shoes.

Advantages: high density, high hardness, wear resistance, good elasticity, good oxidation resistance, easy corrosion and environmental protection, and not easy to wrinkle. Disadvantages: strong water absorption, easy yellowing, easy to break, poor elongation, poor water resistance and easy to rot the bottom.

(3)EVA: vinyl acetate copolymer, polymer material. Commonly used in jogging, walking, casual shoes, foot training shoes midsole.

Advantages: light weight, good elasticity, good flexibility, not easy to wrinkle, excellent coloring, suitable for all kinds of climates. Disadvantages: easy to absorb water, not easy to corrode, not conducive to environmental protection, easy to get dirty.

(4)PHYLON(MD): It is an EVA secondary high-pressure molding product. It is the main material of the midsole of running shoes, tennis shoes and basketball shoes internationally, and can also be used as the outsole of casual shoes. Advantages: light weight, elasticity, thin appearance and good flexibility. Easy to clean, good hardness, density, tension, tear and elongation.

Disadvantages: not easy to corrode, not conducive to environmental protection, easy to wrinkle and shrink at high temperature.

(5)TPR: TPR pellets are injection molded after hot melting, and are often used for the midsole and outsole of jogging, walking and leisure shoes.

Advantages: easy molding and low price. Disadvantages: heavy material, poor wear resistance (not wear resistance), poor softness, poor bending (not folding resistance) and poor shock absorption.

(6)ACF: Artificial cartilage material, which is also a composite polymer material with shock absorption and energy absorption, is an intelligent synthetic material that can sense and respond to impact force and has the ability to discover, and has excellent performance in shock absorption and energy absorption of shoe materials. Environmental protection, anti-impact, anti-deformation, anti-fatigue, breathable, with excellent shock absorption, energy absorption, noise reduction performance, can effectively absorb and disperse vibration energy brought by sports. Generally used for professional sports shoes: special paratroopers shoes, badminton shoes, basketball shoes, football shoes, racing shoes and other insoles or midsole are used more.

Comprehensive performance comparison: TPR has specific gravity, weight, elasticity and wear resistance. Rubber soles also have a large proportion, but they are soft and wear-resistant, with strong grip, but poor elasticity and easy fatigue, and are generally used for indoor football shoes and casual shoes. EVA soles are light and elastic, but after wearing for a long time, their elasticity decreases and they become more practical and wear-resistant. PU, MD and ACF are elastic and durable, flexible and comfortable during exercise, with small specific gravity and light weight. MD and EVA materials are used for middle and low-grade sports shock absorption, while ACF and TPU are used for high-grade sports shock absorption.
