There is no professional restriction for the registered fire engineer exam. Those who have obtained the corresponding education or degree in other majors will have their working years and fire safety technology increased by 1 year.

There are three requirements for registered fire engineers to apply for the exam: major, education background and working years. If they meet the requirements, they can apply for the exam. Different majors and academic qualifications require different working years, and fire-related majors and non-fire-related majors require different working years, which affect each other. Article 1 In order to improve the ability and quality of fire professionals, strengthen the construction of fire professionals, and ensure the quality of fire safety technical services and management, these Provisions are formulated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Fire Protection Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the national vocational qualification certificate system.

Article 2 These Provisions shall apply to professional and technical personnel who are engaged in fire control technical work such as fire control facilities inspection and fire safety monitoring according to the relevant provisions of fire control laws and regulations.

Article 3 The state shall, in accordance with the law, implement a system of professional qualification for professional technicians engaged in fire safety technology, and bring it into the unified planning of the national professional qualification certificate system.

Article 4 The term "registered fire engineer" as mentioned in these Provisions refers to the professional and technical personnel who have obtained the qualification certificate of registered fire engineer at the corresponding level through examination and registered according to law, and are engaged in fire safety technical work such as fire facilities inspection and fire safety monitoring.

Article 5 Registered fire engineers are divided into senior registered fire engineers, first-class registered fire engineers and second-class registered fire engineers. The assessment methods for senior registered fire engineers shall be formulated separately.

Article 6 Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Public Security shall, in accordance with the division of responsibilities, jointly be responsible for the policy formulation of the registered fire engineer system, and guide, supervise and inspect the implementation of the system.

The administrative departments of human resources and social security of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government and the fire control institutions of public security organs shall be responsible for the implementation, supervision and management of the registered fire engineer system within their respective administrative areas in accordance with the division of responsibilities.
