What does China Everbright Group do?

China Everbright Group is engaged in commercial banking, investment banking, capital management, custody business, securities business, fund management, insurance business and other businesses.

China Everbright Group Co., Ltd. was initiated and established by the Ministry of Finance and Central Huijin Company. It is a state-owned enterprise managed by the central government. It was founded in Hong Kong in May 1983 and officially opened on August 18 of the same year. When the Everbright Group was first established, it was mainly engaged in foreign trade and industrial investment. It was registered as Ziguang Industrial Co., Ltd. at that time. In July 1984, it was renamed China Everbright Group Co., Ltd.

On December 8, 2014, with the approval of the State Council, Everbright Group was restructured from a wholly state-owned enterprise to a joint-stock company and officially changed its name to China Everbright Group Co., Ltd. The company is a large-scale financial holding group that spans finance and industry, domestic and overseas, and covers banking, securities, insurance, funds, trusts, futures, leasing, investment and environmental protection, cultural tourism, medicine and other industries.

In July 2019, the Fortune Global 500 list was released, with Everbright Group ranking 289th. On August 5, 2019, it won the first prize for the 2018-2019 National Outstanding Corporate Culture Achievements. On September 1, 2019, the top 500 Chinese enterprises in 2019 were released, and Everbright Group ranked 76th. The 2019 list of China's Top 500 Service Enterprises was released in Jinan, with China Everbright Group Co., Ltd. ranked 42nd.

On October 26, 2019, it was awarded the title of China’s Outstanding Contribution Enterprise with 70 Enterprises and 70 People in 70 Years. On August 10, 2020, China Everbright Group ranked 253rd on the 2020 Fortune Global 500 list. In February 2021, it was selected into the "Directory of Central Financial Enterprises".
