Artistic characteristics of bamboo weaving in Shengzhou

Shengzhou bamboo weaving is usually made from all kinds of tough and tall bamboos, such as Zizania latifolia, Zizania latifolia, and bamboos. Shredded bamboo pieces are as thin as hair and as thin as paper, and can be woven into various shapes.

Shengzhou bamboo weaving is famous for its exquisite weaving, diverse techniques and rich colors. Shengzhou bamboo weaving has 12 categories, including baskets, plates, cans, boxes, bottles, screens, animals, figures, buildings, furniture, lamps and appliances, and more than 6,000 varieties of colors.

Its manufacturing process is complex, and it generally needs to go through the processes of design, modeling, molding, material estimation, processing bamboo strips, moth and mildew prevention, dyeing, weaving, carving accessories, assembly, painting and so on. It's just that bamboo strips have the processes of cutting, sawing, rolling, cutting, opening, baking and splitting.

Shengzhou bamboo weaving has four characteristics: imitation animal bamboo weaving, bleaching, flower reinforcement and blue tire paint. Representative works include Pagoda of Six Harmonies, Yue Fei, Su Wu Shepherd, Six Horses in Zhaoling and so on. Bamboo weaving "Nine Lion Dance Hydrangea" was exhibited in Zhejiang Hall of the Great Hall of the People, which was well received. As a gift from the People's Government of Zhejiang Province to the new government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the bamboo series "Pearl of Returnees" attracted a lot of praise.

The weaving methods of Shengzhou bamboo weaving are coarse and fine. Fine weavers can weave 150 bamboo filaments in one inch, which are as delicate as wings; Rough, can make full use of the elasticity of bamboo, clever weaving, rough and bold, simple works.

In the long-term creative career, Shengzhou bamboo weavers have innovated six processes, such as bleaching, flower reinforcement, blue tire paint, moth-proofing, degreasing and animal simulation, and initiated and formed four technological characteristics, such as bamboo weaving animal simulation, bamboo bleaching, bronzing flower reinforcement and blue tire paint. The so-called rib pattern process is to insert chess pieces with various patterns in the middle and both ends of the objects. General printing can be divided into single-layer, double-layer and multi-layer color matching, which is quite decorative.
