Dongshi Town belongs to Andong Industrial Zone, Jinjiang City, Fujian Province. It is located on the southeast coast of Jinjiang City, Fujian Province. The coastline is 28 kilometers long. It is adjacent to Anhai Town in the north and Yinglin Town and Yonghe Town in the east. It faces Longjiang (Shijingjiang) to the west and Shijing Town, Nan'an City, and faces Kinmen Island across the sea to the south, with mountains behind and water on both sides.

Dongshi Town faces Kinmen Island across the sea and is close to Anhai Town. Since ancient times, shipping, fishing, textile and other industries have been developed, and it has the reputation of "the hometown of Zoulu and Renhe on the seaside". At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Zheng Zhilong was in Anhai, and Dongshi was also used as a naval base. Later, the Ming Dynasty general Zheng Chenggong made these two towns important bases for the resistance against the Qing Dynasty.

Dongshi Port was once the starting point of Zheng He’s voyages to the West and the “Maritime Silk Road” in Quanzhou, as well as Zheng Chenggong’s military exercises to regain Taiwan’s military line field. There are now two berths in the new port area that can accommodate 2,000-ton cargo ships and have an annual throughput of more than 200,000 tons. They have been approved as the starting point for foreign trade and the berthing point for Taiwanese ships in the Golden Triangle of Southern Fujian.

Umbrella making and textiles are the fastest growing industries, with an annual output of more than 10 million dozen umbrellas. At its peak, it accounted for more than 50% of China's exports to Southeast Asia. Asbestos-free motorcycle clutch plates and cermet weaving technology have reached international or domestic advanced levels.
