How did Legal Report climb from an unknown column to its present position? How can people keep their own style and not go with the flow? On the occasion of the second "12.4" National Law Publicity Day, we approached Qian Wei, the producer of Legal Report, and listened to her tell us about the growth process of Legal Report.

The office of the legal report column is not in Taiwan Province. Now, every time he goes to Taiwan Province to do business, even if he has only ten minutes to spare, Qian Wei will go to the coffee shop on the second floor, ask for a cup of coffee, drink it and get up and leave. Don't think that Qian Wei is playing petty bourgeoisie. In her mind, this is a commemoration of the early days of the column.

In Qian Wei's words, "It can be said that the earliest venture in our column started from the coffee shop, and the feelings for the coffee shop have penetrated into everyone's bone marrow."

At the end of 1996, Wang Xinzhong, then the producer of Social Jingwei, was brewing a daily legal column. Until 1998, two elders of the legal newspaper-Wang Xinzhong and Xiao Xiaolin-got together in the coffee shop and began to plan this column. Then, the people from the Department of Public Security and Law came, the people from the National People's Congress came, the TV planner came, and the two people in the coffee shop gradually became a circle.

1998 received a notice from Taiwan Province in the second half of this year, and this column can be broadcast. The French newspaper began to recruit people, and the coffee shop became lively. Because there is no office space, journalists who started legal reporting almost occupied more than half of the tables in the whole coffee shop. The earliest experimental version was made in the coffee shop, the earliest copy was drafted in the coffee shop, and the appointment of the first head of the press corps was announced in the coffee shop. It can be said that the Legal Report was conceived and born in a cafe, and it has a new fragrance in the bitterness of starting a business.

Qian Wei, dressed in plain professional attire, is steady and capable. In the days when coffee shops started from scratch, Qian Wei never dared to wear high heels. Because, at that time, when outsiders entered Taiwan Province, everyone in the group had to meet them at the door in person. In the initial stage of the column, it is necessary to recruit talents and invite experts from all walks of life, and people come in and out in an endless stream every day. Although the distance from the coffee shop to the front of the platform is not too far, running down ten or twenty times a day is definitely not enough for high heels.

Just like the fetus in the mother's body, before the birth of Fa Bao, his parents, relatives and friends gathered in the coffee shop and outlined his appearance in their minds: reading the story, looking for the court's judgment, constructing simulated paragraphs, being performed by actors, and then returning to the set to compete for right and wrong; Create news, take advantage of news, and do daily legal news programs; Go hand in hand, seven days a week, with seven different sections, from the public security version to the economic version, from the folk story version to the marriage version, showing the richness of legal resources; ……

People were immersed in the coffee shop, but they didn't notice that it was autumn and winter outside the window. In a blink of an eye, four months later, "Legal Report" will be broadcast soon. A few days before the broadcast, it finally had its own home. Qian Wei told us a media report at that time: Qian Wei helped Xiao Xiaolin, and they came to the newly renovated Maolin Mansion with holy feelings. Both women walked into their new houses with a feeling of decorating their wedding rooms. Then they looked at each other, sat down and sighed deeply and said, "We finally have a room."

The story of the coffee shop ends here, and the affection for the coffee shop has been rooted in everyone who says it. The small coffee shop witnessed the early start-up stage of the legal newspaper and the difficult years when it was not recognized.

"Grandma Culture" of "Flying at Ultra Low Altitude"

With the passing of the cafe era, legal reports have gradually taken shape. Abandoning the idea of analogical deduction and all the ideas involved, the narrator has a very simple idea: tell 365 legal stories in 365 days, and then invite 365 experts to tell the people what to do. This is the mode of legal reporting that continues to this day.

Under the guidance of the concept of "letting things go smoothly", simple civilian consciousness has become the inherent quality of legal reporting. "Grandma culture" is a famous saying of Wang Xinzhong, which means that the film made by the French newspaper must be understood by your grandmother. Therefore, the producers of the Legal Report often say to the director when commenting on the film: "Ask your mother, ask your grandmother, do they understand?" Over time, "grandma culture" has become the basis of localization of legal reporting. This simple civilian consciousness is vividly called "ultra-low-altitude flight" by the reporter of Legal Report.

In fact, most people don't think much about watching TV. In Qian Wei's view, "there are only two original driving forces in their hearts: curiosity and confusion." It can be said that the program content and form of the Legal Report effectively satisfy the audience's curiosity and desire to dispel doubts. "As far as curiosity is concerned, we broadcast different stories every day. Today is marriage, tomorrow is economy, and the day after tomorrow is an iou to sue for money ... show all kinds of legal stories. In terms of doubt, experts will tell you honestly every day that it is wrong to do so. We can't have a similar situation in the future. We can do this, and we should do the same ... "

This "low-flying" "grandma culture" has won audiences and markets for legal reporting. However, when everything goes the other way, Qian Wei began to worry that the internal quality of legal reports was too bright. "Because of this too distinctive quality, we feel that sometimes we will fall into the crisis of mechanization and urbanization, and we will fall into the depression of the director's creative passion." In this case, Qian Wei also heard many negative voices. For example, expert comments are superficial; The program form is monotonous; The content of law popularization is not avant-garde, and so on.

The French newspaper was expanded, and the program was changed from 15 minutes to 20 minutes. At this time, the mind of the "commentator" really warmed up, and everyone wanted to change the form of the program and make a high-level and macro voice. But rational thinking still makes the narrator make the choice that "only a big house can do great things"-keep the original program form unchanged.

Qian Wei explained the whole story to us in the spirit of the stadium. "Cristiano Ronaldo and Kahn, one is the extreme of attack and the other is the extreme of defense. Who do you think represents the true meaning of football? In other words, in the battlefield of news, what position can represent the true meaning of news? In our view, the true meaning of news is the disclosure of knowledge. Therefore, in the expanded edition in August, the Legal Report resisted the temptation from all sides and held on to the most popular position. The new slogan of the column came into being: recording the legal process in China. The column logo is also set at the first point of the word "Fa". All these reflect the simple civilian feelings of the "talkers". "We start from the first point of the' law', bit by bit, until forever. Qian Wei told us, "Since the year before last, we have been thinking hard about one thing. We have a big event at the end of every year. This big program should integrate all the resources of the public security organs and take stock of all the major events of the rule of law in that year, but this concept has not been well practiced in the daily positioning of the statement.
