What is the global recruitment plan for Beijing Winter Olympics?

The Talent Action Plan for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) was released in Beijing on the 29th. According to the plan, BOCOG will actively introduce foreign talents and establish a global employee recruitment mechanism.

On the same day, according to Yan Cheng, director of BOCOG Human Resources Department, in view of the fact that China's ice and snow sports foundation is relatively weak and high-level competition talents are lacking, BOCOG will find and select talents from a global perspective, pay equal attention to introduction and training, and combine "going out" with "bringing in" to strive to build a professional and international talent team so as to "gather talents from all over the world and use them".

According to the plan, BOCOG will organize and implement seven special plans, namely, gathering international outstanding talents, personnel construction, development of competition management talents, training of professional and technical talents, development of competitive sports talents, voluntary service and training of contractors.

At the same time, BOCOG will organize and implement four special plans for other relevant talent teams at the social level, including the development of urban operation talent teams, youth Olympic education, the training of mass sports backbone talents and the development of innovative and entrepreneurial talents.

Yan Cheng said that BOCOG is actively introducing foreign talents and strengthening contacts and cooperation with relevant international organizations. In the fields of venue planning, track design, competition organization and snow work, BOCOG has introduced 14 foreign experts to guide and solve a series of key technical problems.

He mentioned that in the first global recruitment initiated by the Olympic Organizing Committee last winter, 3,894 people from more than 20 countries and regions signed up, and finally 3 1 person was selected. Three staff members from French, Russian and Taiwan Province province of China have been on duty.

Yan Cheng revealed that the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee urgently needs talents in key fields such as competition organization and service guarantee, and now plans to introduce seven staff members from Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Organizing Committee. In the future, BOCOG will also establish a global recruitment mechanism for its staff, hoping to attract people from areas with developed ice and snow sports who have worked in the Winter Olympics.

In terms of strengthening actual combat training, BOCOG has carried out the largest, longest-lasting and most extensive cross-games learning in the history of the Winter Olympics, and sent 254 people to participate in the actual combat training of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympics, accumulating a lot of experience in running the games.

At present, BOCOG is also comprehensively strengthening the reserve of professional talents such as competition managers, technical officials, track staff, volunteers and competition support personnel. Establish a professional international training system and vigorously introduce high-quality international learning resources.
