Starting from tomorrow, some non-Xiamen residents can use 8 yuan money to visit Gulangyu Island.

Since the adjustment of the Xiamen-Gulou ferry route, the relevant departments have formulated and promulgated the Interim Measures for the Transition Management of Xiamen Ferry to Gulangyu Piano Wharf, which will be officially implemented on June 0, 20 15, in view of the key issues such as how residents, near relatives from other places, nurses and other life service personnel get on the island.

According to the Measures, four types of non-Xiamen residents can also apply for monthly and seasonal cards, including:

1. Spouses and immediate family members of Gulangyu residents.

2. Persons who hold property rights in Gulangyu and live in Gulangyu and their relatives.

3. Professional teachers or teaching assistants hired by schools on the island.

4. Gulangyu residents over 60 years old or former Gulangyu residents living in their hometown need to hire relatives or care workers who live together because of inconvenient life.

In addition, non-Xiamen residents can also apply for tickets to take the citizen channel in the following two situations:

1. Close relatives of Gulangyu residents who live in different places, overseas Chinese who have real estate on Gulangyu, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who come to visit relatives on the island or live for a short time may apply to the community neighborhood committee where their household registration or real estate is located.

2. Temporary door-to-door service personnel employed by Gulangyu residents and those who participate in Gulangyu residents' weddings and funerals may apply to the community neighborhood committee where the household registration is located.
