Time limit for reimbursement of maternity insurance

Maternity insurance reimbursement has a time limit. Generally speaking, the insured employees should apply to the local maternity insurance agency for the maternity insurance benefits they should enjoy in the previous year within 1 quarter every year. After three months' pregnancy, the female employee who has given birth shall go to the maternity insurance agency to apply for the Maternity Medical Certificate, and choose 1 maternity insurance agreement service agency for prenatal examination and delivery.

Maternity insurance benefits in China mainly include two items. One is maternity allowance, and the other is maternity medical care. Maternity insurance reimbursement procedures are mainly:

(1) After a female worker is pregnant, before abortion or family planning operation, the employing unit or the staff of the street or town labor security service station shall bring the application materials to the maternity insurance window of the district social labor insurance agency for handling;

(2) After the staff accepts the examination and approval, they will issue medical certificates;

(3) Within 30 days of maternity leave, the employing unit or the staff of the street or town labor security service station shall bring the application materials to the maternity insurance window of the district social labor insurance agency for treatment settlement;

(4) After the staff accepts the examination and approval, they will pay maternity medical expenses and maternity allowance.
