Do I still need to buy social security for my Hong Kong ID card?

When you successfully immigrate to Hong Kong and formally obtain Hong Kong status, your identity information in the Mainland will be cancelled with your naturalization in Hong Kong, because China does not recognize dual citizenship. If you lose your mainland identity, you don't have to pay mainland social security. Social security in the mainland is compulsory, and everyone is required to pay by law.

If you want to surrender, you must meet the following four conditions:

1. Go through the formalities of going abroad to settle down, and the account has been cancelled by the domestic public security organs.

2. Died before reaching the statutory retirement age, and the account has been cancelled in the public security organ.

3. Repeated insurance and termination of labor relations can be surrendered.

4. The insured has reached retirement age and has not paid the fee 15 years.
