Guangzhou from July 2017 the contribution ratio of each type of insurance is as follows:

Employee basic old-age insurance: since January 1, 2015, the ratio of the contribution of the old-age insurance unit of each insured unit has been uniformly adjusted to 14%, and the ratio of the individual's contribution is still in accordance with the state regulations of 8%; the ratio of the contribution of the individual industrial and commercial enterprises and the flexibly employed persons is still in accordance with the state regulations of 20%.

Employee basic medical insurance: from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017 the contribution rate of employee social medical insurance for employers was reduced from 8% to 7%, and the contribution rate of employee social medical insurance for flexibly employed persons, retired deferred contributors and unemployed persons was reduced from 10% to 9%.

Medical benefits for major illnesses: the unit contribution rate is 0.26%. Individuals do not contribute. Supplementary medical insurance: Employing units and individuals can participate in employee supplementary medical insurance on the basis of participating in employee social medical insurance. Employers participating in employee supplementary medical insurance should enroll all employees as a whole. The contribution standard for employee supplementary medical insurance premiums shall be 0.5% per month per person, based on the average monthly salary of on-the-job employees in the city in the previous year.

Unemployment insurance: from March 1, 2016, the variable rate of unemployment insurance refers to the unit contribution rate, and the variable rate is determined by the social security department according to the rate of unemployment insurance claimed by the employer in the previous five years, which is divided into three grades of 0.48%, 0.64% and 0.8%. For employers who have participated in unemployment insurance in Guangzhou for less than five years (including newly insured employers), the unit rate is levied at 0.64%. The individual rate is adjusted to 0.2 percent.

Workers' Compensation Insurance: from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2019, different industries will be classified into one to eight categories in order from low to high according to the degree of risk of work-related injuries. The benchmark rates corresponding to the risk of work injury for each type of industry are adjusted to the following eight levels: 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.7%, 0.9%, 1.1%, 1.2%, 1.3%, 1.4% of the total wages of the employees of the employing organization in the previous year. Workers' compensation insurance is paid by the unit, and individuals do not contribute.

Maternity insurance: 0.85% paid by the unit, no contribution by individuals.
