How to reimburse the surgical expenses medical insurance

After the surgery, the insured person can prepare his ID card, social security card, hospitalization medical records, payment documents and other materials to go to the social insurance agency, designated medical institutions, or pharmacies for reimbursement. The medical insurance will reimburse the expenses within the scope of the basic medical insurance drug catalog, diagnostic and therapeutic items and so on, according to the prescribed proportion.

Article 29 of the Social Insurance Law states that the portion of the insured person's medical expenses that should be paid by the basic medical insurance fund shall be settled directly between the social insurance administration organization and the medical institutions and drug business units. The administrative departments of social insurance and health shall establish a settlement system for medical expenses incurred in other places to facilitate the enjoyment of basic medical insurance by insured persons.
