Shanghai social security card is collected at the social security card application point in the street where the household registration is located, as follows:

1. When the applicant applies directly to the service station, the service station shall verify that the relevant contents of the Shanghai Social Security Card Application Registration Form filled in by the applicant are consistent with the resident ID card, household registration book or household registration certificate information submitted by the applicant;

2. Download the relevant information of the applicant from the municipal information service center through the shovel-level information exchange platform;

3. If it is confirmed that the downloaded information is consistent with the information filled in by the applicant, the service station shall accept the application.

Social security payment process:

1. For employees in the company, the social security payment business is usually handled in the name of the company. The relevant insured personnel of this unit will follow the established social security handling process. Individuals need to fill in the social security application form, my ID card and two recent bareheaded one-inch photos. The unit will pay you the premium according to a certain proportion of your personal salary.

2. For individuals, if they want to pay premiums, they can only pay pension and medical insurance. The specific payment process is as follows: apply for social security directly to the social security management department where the household registration is located (generally in the township social security department or the county social security bureau).

3. What if the unit fails to pay social security? You need to provide your personal ID card and photocopy, two recent bareheaded one-inch photos, insurance premium and application form, and then go through the formalities of paying old-age insurance at the social security agency.

4. After completing the old-age insurance procedures, pay medical insurance to the local medical insurance center with the old-age insurance procedures and the above-mentioned relevant documents.

Legal basis: Article 57 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of its establishment, apply to the local social insurance agency for social insurance registration with its business license, registration certificate or unit seal. The social insurance agency shall, within fifteen days from the date of receiving the application, examine and issue the social insurance registration certificate.

Where the social insurance registration items of the employing unit are changed or the employing unit is terminated according to law, it shall, within 30 days from the date of change or termination, go to the social insurance agency to handle the change or cancellation of social insurance registration.

The market supervision and management department, the civil affairs department and the organization management organ shall promptly inform the social insurance agency of the establishment and termination of the employing unit, and the public security organ shall promptly inform the social insurance agency of the birth, death, household registration, migration and cancellation of the individual.

Article 58

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration.

The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
