Where do I apply for a social security card for the first time?

Apply for a social security card from the Social Security Bureau for the first time, as follows:

1. For those who have no work unit, they can pay social security as flexible employees. For most on-the-job employees, the social security card is handled by the unit after joining the company, and employees only need to provide identity documents and related forms;

2. Employees provide their ID cards, photos, household registration books, labor contracts and other documents, and then the relevant personnel of the employer, such as the human resources department, apply for insurance. Then bring my ID card to the local social security department or bank to get the social security card. The function of social security card is to concentrate all the functions of five insurances and one gold on one card. The card records the basic information of the insured, as well as the payment of pension insurance, unemployment insurance, medical insurance and work-related injury insurance.

Legal basis: Article 58 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Social Insurance Law.

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration.

The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
