Insurance for foreigners in Shanghai.

1. Non-Shanghai registered personnel can participate in Shanghai social insurance by signing labor contracts with Shanghai units. Urban household registration in other provinces and cities pays five insurances: pension, medical care, unemployment, work injury and maternity. Non-urban household registration in other provinces and cities pays pension, medical care and work-related injury insurance.

2. If a foreigner signs a labor contract with a Shanghai company and agrees to participate in Shanghai social insurance in the contract, he can participate in the payment, but only pay three insurances: old-age insurance, medical insurance and work injury insurance. After completing the employment permit, you can go through the insurance formalities at the social security where the unit is insured.
