It is neither 8-bit nor 10. According to the general provisions of Article 58 of the Personal Social Security Number Law, the personal social security number is a citizen identity number, which consists of an ontology code of 17 digits and a digital check code. The order from left to right is: six-digit address code, eight-digit date of birth code, three-digit serial code and one-digit check code. Therefore, the personal social security number is neither 8 digits nor 10 digits, but 18 digits.
